new patch fps

Recommended Posts

Is it just me? or has the new patch just made the game laggy as hell. The zombies are now a threat yay! they are a thresh because I can't even turn my head without dropped to 15 fps in cities Q_Q

Before patch 30 fps in cities without issue, is it because of the new zombie respawn thing?

An SSD won't improve your fps  <_<

No it will not.

However if you run DayZ on a SSD, framerate drops hardly cause screen stutter, if at all.

I go from 90 fps all the way down to 20 sprinting into Cherno but it's just a number on the screen at this point, the picture on my screen is smooth and uninterrupted.

I can't remember if it was said directly from Rocket, but it was mentioned that an SSD is kind of a must for DayZ just because of how many things it needs to load which in turn, as you said, reduces stuttering which, yes, can lead to a quick loss in fps before it bounces back up again.

soooo how does an ssd NOT improve your fps then?  Seen you say that many times and then this time you flat out contradict yourself straight out :P

Because it doesn't.  It will prevent the stutters of the game constantly trying to load information

ssd helps general fps by reducing load times between the cpu and gpu

it is not a cure all

the latest patch seems more stable, i will test more

i would estimate a small increase in fps, maybe 1-2 frames since the patch

For me, the game feels tad smoother now (on patched stable that is, experimental was worse).

Now if Devs could only deliver the optimalisations in towns, something to do with dreaded "proxies".

If I could get 40 FPS in Cherno / Elektro / Berezino, I would be happy camper.

I actually had a nice FPS increase from the last time i played.

Could also be the driver update on my NVidia card. Not entirely sure.

Oh and guys, if you haven't noticed, the patch reset the startup parameters of off Steam.

I thought the people swearing that the SSD made the game work better were full of it. I went ahead and tried it and have to say they are completely right. Frames are still the same, but the game feels different. I don't notice the frame dips as much when going into or near cities.

On any BIS-game you will see a vast improvement on performance when running it off an SSD. It might not be as noticeable on other games, but you can't compare that to the ARMA-series or DayZ.

Especially on ARMA and DayZ your FPS will skyrocket and you will notice overall more stability when running it on an SSD.

Not directly, but for games made by Bohemia Interactive benefit GREATLY from an SSD. An SSD will allow you to load files (textures, models, etc...) faster, thus less time renderring it in-game.

Well ssd surely makes dayz launch faster but I am not sure about FPS. But still if you have a gaming computer and don't have an ssd by 2014 you are a moron (no offense).

As mentioned multiple times above an SSD definitely improves your FPS on Bohemia games.

And saying "No offense" doesn't make it less offensive.

I think that a ssd will only reduce load time not fps,i use a ssd and my frames still drop signifintly when i get near big cities which really sucks because that is when you really need

the game to run smooth.I have read that rocket has said he found a fix for the fps drop but i don't know if it was implemented.

I have a TERRIBLE computer, and this patch has been wonderful for me. The aids ridden gerbal that runs my computer gets about 5-10 more fps in cities now. maybe 3-7.. it has herpies too.

It's obviously not a global issue, as swapping DayZ to my RAID 0 SSD array did not increase my frames at all. I had initially installed it on a RAID 0 array of two 1TB/7,200RPM/64MB cache hard drives; the only thing it affected was load times. As a matter of fact, the next time I format I'm going to put DayZ back on the HDD array.

Fps drops more and with every patch. I'm down to 30 in cities and I had at one time 60 in same places
