New Patch - Who's still having fun?

Not looking for a debate and don't want this turning into a ALPHA / Stable rant.  I'm just really curious on peoples perceptions of the new patch and where things stand today.  I myself have spent just a little time with it, but thus far I've enjoyed it as much as I did the experimental release prior.  Just wanting to get a barometer where things stand across the full community on the latest patch.  Comments should include what you like or dislike and any additional details to support your vote.  (Dislike zed respawn / like new towns / etc)

The zombies can be a bit overwhelming at times. However it does make you think twice about shooting your weapon now. Bleeding from 1 zombie hit is kind of annoying. But alas it gives the game some sort of threat level!

To be fair I think the hot fix/fixes need time to be disseminated to client/servers/hive before you'll get an accurate poll result.

Awesome patch. Zeds are a real threat now which is good and they are still manageable - careful where you logoff however! Overall Im liking the patch, tone down the rain please!

 

I must had that it is great to be able to find M4 + ammo in smaller towns now thanks to Police Stations, should make Military and Airfield less center piece.

"Wait for host" process is taking a lot longer than before and "Sesion lost" every few minutes on all servers i played today, Same thing happen for all my friends i play with.

Very unplayable and unstable.

38% for game is fine and not even glitchy ... yeah that's what's wrong with the community. The game being unplayable for thousands of people because they can't log in or stay connected if they do  and that zombies are spawning invisible coming through walls already attacking isn't an opinion you can have or not have it's a fact.

I was in Elektro today.

As i walk the street,the desync in the city made my game frames freeze,

then 3 zombies spawned from nowhere and i was trying to move away with all that lag,the game was staggering

and i was bleeding like hell.I tried to bandage but the lag wouldn't let me i was really pissed to top it off,when

i managed to unfreeze for a second and go on offensive,then i noticed the axe bugged.

It was very frustrating and nerve-breaking.

I'm having a lot more fun than I did before hand, I found a CR75, 1911, and an Amphibia S in the same building (don't know the name of the town but it wasn't near a military base).

 

Now I need to get some food and find some magazines for my 1911 and CR75  :), So far i have an M4A1 with 180+ bullets, 1911 with 100+ bullets, magnum with 40ish bullets, and a CR75 with 37 bullets :).

Getting swarmed by zombies with full desync, just to regain connection to see you're dead.. whoopie! 15+ hrs on char down the pooper. So yeah, the new patch? Not liking it.

 

Respawn, run around for 10 minutes. Steam goes down, DayZ goes down.. I log in now, and a zombie is bashing my face in. Dead again.

I could have made it just 'yes' or 'no' - not something I'd overthink here as I'm looking for everyone's input.  My disclaimer is due to the fact we have a lot of "alpha" angst on both 'sides' today.  I welcome everyone's input as I'm just trying to find out the population of the community that is having fun playing the latest version.  Feel free to start another discussion topic if you aren't getting what you need here.

Im just trying to point out you wont get the answers you are looking for, and that this comes across as a bit of a troll post. You obviously know people are having significant trouble even playing at all, but you post a poll asking people if they like the patch that made it so they cant play? Seems a bit trolly to me.

 

But maybe im just old and jaded at this point.

It's good to finally see zombies ingame.But let's face it....

My guess is that the game is still unplayable in this form.

I'm not telling this as a bad thing,it's an alpha.But not a lot of things are in yet.

The zombies just spawn on your radius,and they "magically" agro you.

When i was playing the mod,i had to use stealth for them to not see me,and get my ass away from the road because of the noise.

I was very cautious not to be spoted.That's not the case here,system's still in a very primitive form.It needs a lot of tweaking.

Also the massive desync,really needs to be fixed.

Don't you agree?

If you set everything to low or disabled of course you can't see the game in he's real form... sincerely in 148 hours of game I never saw an invisible zombie. Same for my friends! Some tweaks that I saw on forums and blogs should never be applied if you still want to play a game because you get MAYBE some extra FPS but you lose all the graphics of modern game and problems like this may appear!

 

As for desync... try when you enter a server to wait for few mins till it goes away... for me it is a problem only when i log after that everything works like a charm ( of course if you join a server with a good ping for you ).

 

I hope they will make the zombie even more badass then they are now :) because that's all about this game: survival / kill zombies or run away / stay away from bandits... if you want a normal shooter play COD or BF!

 

I just see a very good future for this game if they keep it this way and of course if they fix that bloody walking through walls :)
