Amputations in Dayz

Hi guys

 

I was recently reading the Walking Dead comics, and reached the point where someone lost their limb. I thought, why couldn't you lose a limb in Dayz and still live.

 

I've always, on Dayz, have tried to survive on dayz for as long as I possible can, meaning that I end up crawling across half the map when I have broken bones, until I either die or fix the bones. I thought why not trying surviving with a missing limb. Just the hands though, no feet would be too much of a challenge.

 

I was thinking you could use a sharp weapon, such as an axe, to chop someone's hand off, and use some disinfectant to get rid of any illnesses, and then bandage the guy up. I think if you were holding someone up it would be useful so that they cant attack you easily if they find a weapon, and i would like to try the challenge of just using one hand in the game.

 

Just wanted to see if anybody thought this would be a good idea.

Who'd want to play while missing  limb? It'd just become another method of torture. (As I can see has been thoroughly explored through that "bowling" idea)

Can i use sticks to make a peg leg and walk around doing a Captain Barbosa impression, complaining about Jack Sparrow and curses and such?  Im horrible at impressions, so Ill probably just make it the English/Australian bastard of an impersonation I always do.

I dont think spraying disinfectant on an open wound will help more than hinder.

In a real apocalypse, recovering from an amputation is practically impossible.

And like suggested above, "bandits" would just cut off both arms, and tell you to have a nice day.

There were people recovering from amputations in medieval ages (and even before), i dont see why couldnt they in postapocalypse .)

 I thought, why couldn't we also take a s|*#† in Dayz, too?

And I have to add:

This is a game. And games are supposed to be fun.

And amputations wouldn't add fun in any way. it would be like breaking legs, but WoRSE.

Why would you make someone's day so bad, that he will kill his char....

 

 

Also I would be careful saying:

Just mentioning'

If you would have a heart-problem, would you like to see other people and strangers  saying: "Hey, I'd like to try the challenge of having a heart problem in DayZ, if i had to" ?

There are some things, which you wouldn't like to have, test or just have for 1-2 days.
