Do you use Windows XP? If so, This may help.

" People I have the solution, the game require high v memory values.. and windows xp cant handle it... so you must change the config file located in my documents. Change the value of vram. In my case I have 1 gb of vram and change the value to 900 megabytes.. but the file use only the bytes unit . you can change to the nonlocalvram to the value of your ram memory in bytes ! then try play "

Taken from the steam forums, I cleaned it up a bit, Because it wasn't really English.. That non-highlighted P is annoying me..

Right-click DayZ in your Steam library

Click "Properties"

Click "Set launch options..."

Enter "-nopause" and confirm

The issue only occurs when he alt + tabs out of the game, so I would assume that -nopause would prevent it without him having to change anything via his config. :)

Were you able to play the game before/is this a new issue?

Are you using anything like SweetFX or any other launch options?

Have you tried deleting your DayZ.cfg and allowing the game to create a new one?

Ive managed to get it working by just right clicking my dayz cfg file, going to previous verisons and restored it to some time last week.

I really appreciate the help guys.

edit: I assume since that fixed the error it was something off one of those FPS boost guides since I recently tried using one of those guides :)
