Irish. 4886 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) I just realized that there are multiple types of servers. I joined a stable hardcore, and was on the coast.. at first I was like WTF?! I mean I had logged out at Black Lake and the server was damn near empty when I did.. so how the hell did I die? So I back out.. and join another stable HC server. Ok, now I am my normal character spawning in at Black Lake where I left off with all my gear. So I realized, that having joined 2 different HC servers that something must be up. So after sometime, I backed out and went to my server history section. I find the server where I spawned on the coast.. it says version 115946 or somthing different than the other stable servers.. the number was slightly higher? Then I start to look at the servers and I see that there are others like this. They show on the server version as the same as the others.. but on the title of the server itself, it will say its 115946 or something similar. And I'm willing to bet the same is for regular servers. This was all on stable build only. This may explain why some people complain of being reset? Or in the least people should be aware of this. :) Edited March 17, 2014 by lrish

odin_lowe 3686 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) Yep, there are different hives. I have four different "characters". I use 1 in Vilayer, 1 in gameservers, 1 hardcore experimental and 1 regular experimental. Have different characters at different part of the map helps when trying to meet with friends too. Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 17, 2014 I haven't noticed different version numbers but I am pretty sure if you go back to that server that said it was hardcore, it'll be regular. Some of the servers aren't configured properly to the hive and some don't save characters at all.

I stick to the same servers usually.. so I had never noticed this

Twice. ;)I've had the same issue before except mine was a regular labelled, as in server type, as hardcore. I've also noticed some servers, never bothered to get their details because I never went back to them, don't save characters at all.
Grimey Rick 3417 Posted March 17, 2014 I've noticed that "Regular" servers that have 3PP disabled will load my "Hardcore" character, even though on the server list they are labeled "Regular".

See this was definitely different hive type stuff. I have a full geared character on each hive, of the what I thought were the only 4 hives. But after testing it, I could see that somehow people seem to be running slightly different builds.. or they are getting a different hive. Because this was most definitely hardcore stable. Looked like this: ^ yep, my ping is set to 1,000. :) I like options Edited March 17, 2014 by lrish
