Operation "Sanctuary" safe zone calling all heroes (Event Ended)

I don't understand why ppl claim it wont work. We all seem to agree that after 200+hrs or so at this stage of the stable branch gets a little boring until the next patch so whats wrong with making things interesting and meeting new fellow hero/survivor types? Or proving oneself as a hero/helper/security and getting regocnition from fellow survivors?

 

I have 4 characters (2 in stable 1pp& 3PP) and in experimantal (dying while helping ppl is not a problem), and yes they will be wiped at some point as we will move along to beta so whats wrong with GETTING SOME STREET CREDIT from fellow heroes while things are slow?

 

In my opinion this is a GREAT TIME to meet like-minded ppl since there is little to loose...and the bandits and kosers--bring it on!  B)

Dont listen to them OP, my circle of friends and i are not from dayzMod and so always welcome the chance to create new networks of like-minded heroes from that experienced community. :thumbsup:

Sigh... These events serve no real purpose. The security dudes will get bored eventually and leave earlier than they originally planed to do.

 

I'm not against events, just not for this game yet.

 

 

After this update, dude... This game is far from enjoyable to do events like this for a long time.

Honestly, you can do nothing in this alpha built. It's boring and repetitive, i bought the game just so i can play from time to time...

I always played the mod as a hero (gotta have that sweet hero skin). I'd be very interested in this, no matter what the capacity I'd be involved. Up until this point I've found it kinda hard to play the sole-hero role because the group I play with now is a lot smaller than the community I used to play with.

 

I've always been most interested in player interactions in this game as opposed to PVP, and this seems like it could be a lot of fun, as well as a good opportunity to meet some of the more professional friendly players (CQF and The Regulators are both names that ring out quite loud), and maybe make some new pals.

 

I'm most interested in a medic style role as it's the role I was most comfortable with in the mod, but happy enough to do whatever.

 

Anyway, hopefully you guys accept my request. Let me know, and good luck with the event!

Actually it could be very benign unless they tell people what server it is on ahead of time.. even on a full server, if they do this away from the coast at all, in my experience it will just be a lot of people standing around eating food.

 

The only way this gets exciting for them is if they welcome the challenge of telling others at least what server its on.. people still wont know their location. So the only way it gets really, really good is if they say hey.. we are here. Bring it. 

 

 

I think I may well tell the server its on then :)

Its going to probably be held at a location where its unlikely someone would spawn in but somewhere we can see a main travelling route, therefore if they are spawning in we will assume they are ghosting us and give them one chance to log out just in case we are wrong

There's a lot to go through so that's why I've given a 1-2 week warning so I can get through them all

Then when it's about 24 hours to go I'll give them all the info and release the server IP when the operation begins so that other people and bandits can try and find it on that server

Yeah we don't wear gas masks and some form of way to ID our people will likely be put into effect

My group will be ok, as we have some experience doing this and we've been ok so far but that's because we give important updates like "I'm moving past this building now" Ect

But I can see it being a problem for some or new people joining

What if the server is full? Down for maintainance? Empty? Has connection difficulties or some of us can't connect?

It's far easier just to spend an hour before the event looking for a server that runs well

The people who are invited into the town as trusted members don't have any real rules

These are fair rules

If people don't have any rules to follow then everyone will be dead in minutes, we will inform people what they are getting into and if they don't like it they don't have to enter and can leave

Even with these rules it will be hard to maintain peace, relaxing them would just cause mayhem

We have almost zero association with the CQF, we met them once, they helped us out and their reputation proceeds them

Erm nope, the server will be given out nearer the time, it's just the location they won't

The goal is to help people, not play defend the castle from waves of re spawning bandits

So the server we are on will be enough, and will get revealed in due time

I'll start making some replies to people who want to join tomorrow
