qww 287 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) id love to see more people playing on the first person only servers, i cant believe so many prefer 3rd person, i feel that 3rd person is missing the point of this game, using alt and seing any impossible angle, etc.im even reading people saying they get motion sickness??? unbeleivable please, more players, try the hardcore servers, its so much more simulator, so much less arcade game with super vision Edited March 14, 2014 by qww
ig-rage 78 Posted March 14, 2014 how is it unbelievable that some people get motion sickness from 1st person?
qww 287 Posted March 14, 2014 well i shoudl say i made thsi topic because its hard to find active hardcore servers a lot of time late at night, not because i want to hate on people who get motion sickness but after seaching forums it seems a lot of peopel use the reason that they cant play 1st person because they get motion sickness, i know everyones different, but i cant relate to that, and i fidn it suprising how much it comes up, i just feel " havent you ever seen a fps before?" how about you ig rage, do you get motion sickness in 1st person? do you from other fps games? do you play 3rd person? do you enjoy looking around the impossible angles? ig-rage 78 Posted March 14, 2014 i prefer 1st person, 3rd person is annoying to control.
luwig 0 Posted March 14, 2014 I personally cant understand why people get motion sickness from playing on 1PP. It's pretty much the same thing except you cant see your toon and there are sometimes where there is a gun or fists on your screen. It might also be a FOV issue. I personally prefer the 1PP because I dont like the fact that someone maybe looking at me when I cant see them. If someone wants to shoot me, Id rather it on a level playing field. Gears00fWaR 1 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) personally i always play on 1st person in hardcore for 1 reason : so no one else abuse the 3rd person view against me in game ( seeing above the wall and roof tops and all these stuff ) . Edited March 14, 2014 by Gears00fWaR

Guest Posted March 14, 2014 im even reading people saying they get motion sickness??? unbeleivableYour Sir...really? Ask ppl why they get cancer, doubt more then 10% can tell you.I used to play with my sister some ego-shooters back in the days, she could play/watch like 20-40 minutes after that she felt dizzy and had headache - some ppl just can't play in first person, get it. Probably the same reason why some ppl can't watch 3D-flicks, but i'm not a doctor. I play firstperson only and had success get my whole clique doin so, they fought it tooth and nail - that cornerlurkin in 3PP sucks so damn hard, alone for that reason i recommend everyone who's not motionsick and a fair player to play 1PP - but hey, only my humble opinion. Etherimp 1323 Posted March 14, 2014 I can play most FPS games without a problem.. In fact, I've been playing FPS games since the Doom and Quake days. DayZ however has some very large perspective issues which make it ... "uncomfortable".. Doesn't make me sick, but it definitely doesn't feel "good".. The small doorways/hallways/houses are extremely difficult to maneuver in, in 1st person. If it's dark outside and you have to use a flashlight/headlamp, that even makes it worse. That said, I would have no problem playing on 1st person server.. But most of my friends prefer 3rd person, and the community I am in runs a 3PP server, so that's why I usually play on normal hive. EvilTigerAce 131 Posted March 14, 2014 I prefer 1st person, 3rd person = headglitching/looking through walls a lot
lauda 44 Posted March 14, 2014 Most people think they have an advantage when they can look over walls, through windows while in prone position and so on. And they forget or rule out that the others can do the same. Somehow that´s simply stupid! When i started to play the SA (never played the mod) i´ve also prefered the 3rd person view, because its more comfortable over all (higher cam position, better overview and so on) But after some time it made me sick to get killed all the time by people which have the patience to lay behind windows, walls, on roofs all day long without moving a meter. That kind of patient players have the real advantage! I actually want to run around and i have no chance to discover "that players" but they can see me and wait ∞ for their moment. I understand that some people have problems with motion sickness. But if that´s the reason we would have 5% on 3PP and 95% on 1PP on not vice versa.Ok, it´s not really a problem for me, but some more 1PP players to have more populated hardcore servers would be nice. qww 287 Posted March 14, 2014 Another one of these threads... Ew.another thread asking for more people to explore the more realistic side of this game, maybe. does that offend you? Your Sir...really? trkrap 1 Posted March 14, 2014 Motion Sickness is something, i never had on PC but while playing MGS on ps3 couple years ago i had an killer headache for 3 days. I love playing in 1st person but since its kinda lagging i cant in cities.
byrgesen 1341 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) I'll come play with you, love the first person view in this game :)But im kinda hanging back atm. I "overplayed" the mod in the early days, and got bored fast.I dont want to do that with this game, so i dont really play much yet. I want to add, ive played quite alot of Arma in MilSim communities and ive run into at least 10 different people, who would get this motion sickness. So i believe it effects only a very small percentage of the player base really. Most might just be faking it because they prefer 3rd person view, for what ever reason ;) Edited March 14, 2014 by Byrgesen

Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted March 14, 2014 not very fair, you assuming ALL 3pp players are cheating assholes.I haven't said anything about cheating but since your camera is further in the back, you do tend to have your face planted in walls whenever you're moving in urban environment as a 3rd PP :)

daisho 74 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) Motion Sickness is something, i never had on PC but while playing MGS on ps3 couple years ago i had an killer headache for 3 days. I never really did get that in a PC-game either, nor on console...untill I've bought Doom3 a few weeks ago, could play for like 5 minutes, then had to turn off the console. I really don't understand what triggered this. The only difference between hardcore and regular is the lack of 3rd-person-view in hardcore, right?
