I can't believe I just now realized this

Recommended Posts

It's taken me this long to realize something. Running with fists up = stopping when taking axe out. Running with fists down = taking axe out while running.

Why didn't any if you tell me this sooner!?!?

I knew fist up running meant stop and step vaulting while fists down meant a jump. So I decided to test more options and whammo!

Damn. Ok, I feel like part of the "in" crowd now...

I notice in the change logs it's recorded as a "known issue" that you need to raise your hands in order to swipe a melee weapon, and that's true you do, but personally I think that's a better way of doing things. You should maybe be able to push zombies away with the melee when it's lowered, the swing should only be available when your hands are raised. It's not exactly spot on realism but I think it adds to the melee combat.

Hi.

Its the same with rifles, compasses, etc.

I was always a little curious reading posts in here where people were complaining about stopping to switch weapons.

Regards.

Are you sure? Because I still run faster than people who don't do it and I don't lose my breath. Granted, I don't run as fast as I used to run but I can take anyone in a race when my fists are up and there's aren't. I've done it, recently.

yeah it got nerfed but sinphul is right. youll still be a tad faster overall, and you dont get winded after a long sprint.

You might be running faster than others just because you do. I've ran faster than some of my friends fists up or down, I've also ran slower at times.

My friend has a theory that this difference in run speed is based on hunger/thirst levels, which honestly would make sense. We have not tested this and most probably won't (maybe someone else has or will...), as I always just try to stay maxed energized, hydrated and healthy.

But more on topic, I've always put my fists down while equipping/unequipping something just because it felt like the right thing to do and I had no idea that having your fists up would make you stop. Which honestly it really shouldn't and hopefully won't in the future.

I have a feeling this has been the death of many people.

Fist running isn't completely fixed on stable. You still run faster than just normally running, it just takes a little bit to get going. On experimental, it's completely fixed.
