How dose one not starve in a 50 slot experimental server?

Recommended Posts

All loot taken. No food drinks or can openers or axes left in the world to open my food. Hardly no food in the world.

And following the rule "Go out into the map not along the shore" wont save me because i just follow in other players footsteps.

How do you survive in a server where all loot is gone. And it's gone forever. What's your method?

Also this is a small hint to you know... loot respawns every 15 mins. And if loot still exists in building the loot wont respawn in that building, hint hint nudge nudge.

Inland is your friend... You can run a long ways inland without food - there are certain types of houses that get overlooked with lots of food items...

I usually hail geared players, and ask for food. If they try to rob or kill me... Well, I punch them out or run depending on if they have a helmet or not. I then take all of his food and gear, and hide the bitch's body. :D

What Darwin's death Angel said. At least it becomes more and more an option. You could also ask for food. You could sprint north to one of the smaller towns and increase your chances of finding food.

The thing to remember is it's not the fact that the game starts after you find food. The game has started as soon as you come in.

Berries!

DAMN YOU CAPTIAN PLA... DOCTORWHY!!!

Otherwise loot the building's that no-one else loots cos they "don't spawn loot"

is this a riddle like we are gonna get an answer or a question cos OP is trying to steal our secrets?

My problem on the exp servers is not loot, as I just run to a town that no one has been to. Takes about 20 mins tops to get to any outlying town on the map.. My problem is not finding an axe and being overrun or just getting bored of running in circles around towns trying to ditch the zeds that keep spawning aggro out of nowhere even when I prone crawl around town. Even sitting still inside a house I had a zed aggro on me.. After a while I just get bored of ditching zeds over and over, if I dont find a nice melee weapon to kill them with (as a gun will just make wave after wave appear in most cases) then I just basically get careless/bored and end up being killed by zeds or bleeding out from one hit and a lack of rags.

Nothing you can do other than team up with someone (lol) or knock out a geared player (boo). Or watch server populations and try to be the first one on, you know, late at night or early in the day. Then panic like crazy running around like its a free supermarket shopping spree before you head off to where ever.

Oh there is also the fact that the experimental from what I've seen runs on a three hour day cycle and an hour of light then restart.  If you hit one in the "early afternoon" time chances are it's not that looted yet.

I stock up on Water then Think what the masses have just done, I.E. go for all the major towns. So it then run to a back water town in the middle of no where and Zing I survive.

Experimental servers definitely provide the most "survivor", "fighting to live" experience. It's very intense when you don't have time or weaponry to kos and those that do can't afford to shoot and ruin your equipment (not that it doesn't happen).

I was very fortunate when i logged onto the experimental servers last week. I headed straight inland off the coast and ran into the smaller towns. There was a decent amount of loot as long as i stayed off of the beaten path. Stumbled my way to the military base directly west (and a little north) of balotta to find a freshly spawned base. My next venture took me to a town with a police station where i found my first press vest.

It was exciting to be on the verge of dying and scrambling to find anything i could get my hands on as a posed to being able to gear up in 2 hours on stable. What I also found interesting was how many people i met that had no interest in killing me when i was freshy and even after i had started to loot up. On experimental there is such a fierce hunt to find food and other items that pvp in my experience is reduced significantly. Servers are all very high pop so the concentration of guns and other lethals seem to be fewer as well. People are unable to gear up in low pop and then jump into high pop to go hunting.

Experimental is a great change of pace but both stable and exp have their positives and negatives.

Experimental in my opinion really filters out the bandits that add to the game from the bandits that just take pleasure in ruining someone else's. If you want to constantly troll in exp you need to first spend many many hours gearing up, trolls don't typically have the stamina to spend hours on tedious things like finding food and water. (<- I said "don't typically". For the hard working trolls, don't get your panties in a knot)

Stable offers more mission type goals i.e.. Reddit Rescue Force, more people to terrorize etc.

Both are incredibly fun.

This has always been a major issue in my opinion. Even if there were properly respawning zombies in large numbers, I can't evade them even if I'm being totally stealth. They need to start implementing a better stealth system. Always feels a little silly just bolting into a town with a bunch of zombies on your tail. It should be very difficult to get an aggro from afar whilst crawling. I also think they need to decide on how buildings modulate sound (i.e. do they muffle it or amplify it).

That and I'd like silhouette/visibility to play a bigger role as well, not as big as sound, but bigger overall.

I didn't tell him where to find them and it's good to help out once in a while. the man is starving.  We could at least help him live long enough for us to kill him on experimental.

You sir have my beans.  This is WHY I go to experimental now and then. There is a great satisfaction in finding something that helps.

I've starved several times doing this, only survived once when I found a pull-tab can of tuna in an already looted house :'D (starved later though). Sure you'd get lucky and find one house in a town with a soda someone could't carry, but on an actual *full* server, its picked clean, even the remote little hamlets with no name. I know where to look for stuff, but you just can't survive on a full server alone unless you just get lucky. I mean, a single player can literally eat an entire town's food supply just to get energized status. Def need a bit of loot distribution to the lootless buildings, if those damn feed shacks had stuff like the map says they do this wouldn't be a problem I bet.

I played for a good portion of time ~3 hours running around the coast and coastal towns, I found a single can of pipsi, I also took some time to get re-acquainted with nature and mother nature was *kinda* rewarding for that, a belly full of berries (berries need some work but wtf it's alpha) and I survived just fine.  While they aren't my first choice of food, due to how much of a pain in the arse they are to harvest they will get you through in a tough patch.

Also I know I'm supposed to get off the coast but that wasn't the point of this experiment.

You have a point, because i almost starved to death on experimental until i a great food item (I had it the whole time but I didn't know it would fill my hunger that much ._.). My life was saved and I went on quite the adventure after that. Crazy how one moment you accept the fact you're gonna die, and then the next you can be saved.

I can't even believe I ran into friendlies at the nwaf after I almost starved in Devil's Castle.

Easy: Find a Berry Bush...They are everywhere. Even literally on the coast. As far as I can tell the bush doesn't run out ATM either.

You can sprint from the beach straight to the NWA without dieing of thirst or hunger. You will be technically dieing but you will make it. Done it a couple times..

No need to stop at wells or anything. So if you were legitimately looking for food and water your guaranteed up North-West somewhere.

The only place I find not looted is the very far East side of the map. Start above Bolota and headed straight North. All those towns are normally skipped cause people run the Military Highway (My term) from Bolota to the NWA. There are two Military camps along the route not including the 2 airfields. Everything East of that on the edge of the map is good to go.

Keep in mind you can also run from Berinzeno to Bolota without food or water. So it's a viable option. Just don't get shot or eaten by Zeds along the route.

You got a couple options.

#1 Find a Berry Bush eat till stuffed. Run along the coastline till you hit some swamps. Drink water till stuffed...

2# Dead sprint to Bolota. Loot the town for the one can of beans and soda. If there's no food at the first town in Bolota hit the small village above the airfield. Then dead sprint to the next town far North. Then when your "Healthy" you can jump on Military Highway from one of the many On-Ramps near each town and proceed to gear out.

#3 Just ask some noob or hero alone the coast line.

#4 Run to Elektro and wait for gun shots. Once you hear them zero on the location and begin Fight Night Total K/O!

I wont even begin to look for gear until I'm "Healthy" status. I'll check all the SKS/Mosin spawns and check for crafted back pack mats. All while dead sprinting. Nothing is worth a double check when your dieing so keep an eye out and don't back track..
