Use fruit as a suppressor for a single shot

Wouldn't it be cool if you could put e.g. an orange on top of the barrel of your gun as kind of a weapon attachment to fire a single silenced shot possibly at cost of dispension? Of course the fruit should be ruined or disappear after one shot.

 

I couldn't find anything like that on the other topics so i just posted it. If there is already a simmilar topic existing i'm sorry

find a gun for yourself, like an M4 or whatever.

1.look for youtube videos that use anything else than a suppressor to silence the supersonic crack.
2.look for youtube videos that use a suppressor and subsonic ammunition to silence the supersonic crack.
3.look for youtube videos that dont use a suppressor, neither subsonic ammunition and have a supersonic crack.

compare those three in their sound volume.

ERGO:

the only realistic difference to all three examples is that the crack is missing in two, that the crack is there in three
and that there is in one fruit flesh mixed with blood on somebodys body.

it is suppressing and not silencing, it cannot suppress signicantly without the proper ammunition.

Yes thanks for the answer. Of course i mean suppressor and not silencer, sorry for that (changed the topic).

I found this video where a potato inside a waterbottle on top of a ruger 10/22 kind of silences the shot.

 

 

So you would need a fruit, a waterbottle and a sharp object to build the silencer

What do you guys think about that?

Hello there

 

You would need a slow and quiet round as well, also dont get me onto revolvers and gangsta "tato silencers"

 

On the whole i really dont thing its worth the effort for the result.

 

Also, remember very very few weapons do the "phut phut" sound when suppressed unlike in the movies.

I have to admit, that a ruger is one of the grey area weapons, at 20°C shooting subsonic with standard ammo
and at 0°C shooting supersonic.
still not worth the effort.

I could see this more of an idea for sidearms but nothing more.  While I know nothing about the supression abilities of fruit I do have an adapter that will let me screw an oil filter onto the barrel and it is surprisingly effective when used with .40 or .45s First shot is quieted the most of course and gets louder each shot as it burns the guts out. I think some improvised limited shot supressors for pistols should be looked into and would be a decent addittion eventually.
