If you rent a flat where the lease states "no animals" and you want to take a dog into it but you are denied, whos lost the grasp on how the world works there?

If you know the rules and dont like them you simply dont rent the server.

Not a good analogy.

You have a 100% monopoly on servers.  That is saying ALL flats are "no animal" flats.

I agree we won't be renting a server, or playing the game, or buying any future titles from Arma.

By the time DayZ gets it's act together, has useful features like the mod, Bethesda will have a Fallout MMO out and it will be a moot point.

So people that want and pay for a PVE server, can't have it?

I guess KOS is not only suggested by the dev team, it's actually enforced with getting your server shut down.

Good to know.  We're not buying a server or even playing this game until that changes.

KOS = Valid gameplay

PVE = Server shut down / ban

Glad to see the dev team appreciates different play styles.  Glad to see they're not favoring any one group.  Oops, they are!

Have you even bothered to read the server hosting rules?

There is a solid reason for them, and that is because the game is in ALPHA TESTING... part and parcel to testing, is exploring the functionality of EVERY AVAILABLE FACET of the game and gameplay. By attempting to eliminate a HUGE part of the gameplay, you effectively curb the testing process and the ability to work out bugs.

EVERY SINGLE TIME you log into the game, you have to agree to the disclaimer that this is an alpha. You acknowledge the state of the game before you even get to look at your character. You acknowledged you were participating IN A TEST before you even clicked on the "buy" button in steam.

If the test is too hard for you to accept, you would be best served by going back to the mod, where you can have your ridiculous humanity bullshit. If it is EVER brought to SA, you can rest assured that it isn't going to happen anytime soon- so for the love of god will you fucking stop carrying on about it like a goddamn 14 year old whose mommy refuses to get him the latest CoD title for his PS4 because he already has it on xbox- "but MOOOOOOM, all my friends are playing it on PS4 now and I cant play with them!!!"

Fuckin-a man, grow a set and play the game as it was intended.

Protip: Go play on one of the other million DayZ servers where you can do whatever you want.

Does anyone else see the irony of people crying about how others should stop crying about KoS and play the game the right way? Instead of calling them babies for playing the game a way you don't like why don't YOU stop being a baby and accept that others might want to play the game a different way?

The PvP elitism on this forum is disgusting sometimes.

Your restaraunt analogy was also terrible.  To fix it, it's like you go to a restaraunt, and for some reason you want to rent a table.  At this restaraunt, anyone can order and eat whatever they want at any table.  Then you say "I want only vegetarians to eat at my table!  No one else is allowed to sit or I'll kick you out!"  Then you lose your table privileges. Savvy?

No matter how you slice this pie, you are wrong.  So wrong in fact, that you seem to be arguing for no other reason then, what?  I honestly can't figure it out.  But since you are leaving, I wish you a swift, firm kick in the ass on your way out the door.

It's ok guys, he's gone.  Must have been an only child.

Hello there

Ok fair enough.

But you fully understand my point. You know that.

Nonetheless, if you dont like the rules simply dont rent them.

They will not be changed at this point.

I am actually pro a PvE or SP experience (if separated from the PvP hive) but if they are not ever allowed, I wont stomp and scream or cut of my nose to spite my face by not buying any new Arma titles (different game)

Id personally like to play on every type of server both PvP or PvE depending on my mood.

But would I rent a server and deliberately break the rules? Nope. Would I be patient and wait and see what may happen in the future? Yup.

Personally if you wish to play DayZ as always friendly BAN=KICK... well it wont hurt me or you so play on them. I just do something called avoid them. If you wish to play a epic game locked down with boring server rules well go ahead. As i said. Won't hurt me and server hopping can't get any worse (:

It isn't about PvP elitism, the reason people get up in arms about people complaining about PvP is because DayZ is the place you can go out gear up and do whatever you want the options are all out there or will be. If you watch the walking dead TV series they wrestle with a lot of the issues you wrestle with in the game. they need to secure food and if someone else is eating or taking that food it means death, same thing in the game if you are trying to secure food and someone comes rolling in poking around the town you are in you might feel scared and fear for your life or get angry because someone is trying to take your food, you could engage this person in a chat or try to get the jump on them so they cannot take the potential food stores you are looking for in the town.

The argument should never come down to why cant we have non PvP servers because people would go to the non PvP servers to gear up and then do their business on pvp servers leaving all of the people crying about PvP without anything to loot on thier precious PvE servers in turn turning them into Angry PvP sadists.

So instead of complaining that there aren't any PvE only servers thanks the devs for having the foresight that you don't have and understanding your game play would be a lot less fun if you didn't have the occasional firefight to fear, loath, or to just break up the monotony. It is the freedom to do whatever you want that people don't want to lose.

Final note: the Arma Series has done pretty good. And DayZ has been growing exponentially so if a few people try it and don't Like it I don't think it is going to matter much. So if you go to Fall out or CoD ot titanfall good for you the rest of us will be hunting each other and having fun doing it.

You need to read my post. There are no private servers yet, only public hive servers. You can't be linked up to the public hive and have different rules or it causes issues for the general public hive players. So to have a public hive server, you have to follow the rules all public hive servers follow.

Once private servers are available, I would assume you could do what you want with your server.

NOTHING is stopping anyone from playing how they want to play....

You can play a PVE playstyle ALL you want. Just don't get mad when someone else has a different playstyle then your own which gets you killed because you havent figured out how to hide better....

Orlok, sometimes I just want to hug you for no particular reason. Or is it because of your general manners and patience? Anyway, point made. No homo, ofc.

So the person PAYING for the server has no choice?   <-------------I love how the NO NO NO NO NO crowd consistently misses this point

So if you go to a restaurant, I get to decide what YOU order and then I eat it?

Glad to know you've got a firm grasp on how the world works!

The world works with rules, the server rental has rules.  They are breaking the current rules.  So would you complain if you were punished for breaking the rules.  The world truly is a funny place full of funny people with trivial rants.

On that same token why not just not comment on his ranting and not comment at all?

It seems like if a company that owns this intellectual property has rules you don't really get a choice end of story.

Follow them or don't. There are always choices and the outcomes can be good or not good. Choices they sure are a bitch are they not?
