Hello guys I'm new to this forum and game I plan on making a DayZ AAR whilst playing solo I may switch between mod and SA if there's nothing I can do in standalone besides banditry once I've got everything :P now do know that my f12 key is busted so I can't take screenshots but I will start a new thread and try to update daily :) (I don't know if I'll be a survivor, medic, hero, bandit, or baddie yet though only time will tell and the developmental state of my character.

Hi Xenology

You can re-bind the steam screenshot key to whatever you desire :)

I'm getting a new keyboard soon so it won't be long and not everyone has to like it if that's not their cup of tea

Welcome to the Deathmatch Permadeath KOS Standalone.

You might as well shoot everyone on sight.  There's no benefit not to do it.  If you don't do it, you'll end up dying a lot.

They should implement a humanity system like the one in my signature below, that would at least BALANCE out the hero vs KOS bandit gameplay.

You can always rebind your Steam screenshot key to another one. It's quite easy to do.

And don't listen to Airborne ^^. You don't "need" to KoS. (except if YOU feel like it, or you are at the airfields) I could post screenshot of all the players I met and I didn't shoot on sight or the ones I even teamed up with, but it would take a while. Let me know if you still wanna see those.

There are hundreds of ways to play right now even in alpha, that doesn't require you to kill others on sight. To each his own, but please try not to get influenced into a style of play. Find your own. Have fun and enjoy your time!!

Edit: Nuggit beat me to it on the screenshot key part. :D

don't listen to some of these cats don't just KOS everyone I mean if that's your thing then go ahead. just go with your gut there are so many options besides just murder even though that's usually where the adrenaline is. experiment with the game and be prepared I played a lot of the mod and I think the common SA player has become a cold blooded cat hell I have. good luck and I do look forward to reading your experiences especially when you run  into other players.

or u can keep your gun out and hit spacebar to aim it up you always want your gun out in a player encounter or at least you want to be the one who has his out when you first meet it gives you an advantage because now the other cat has to pull his and all you have to do is pull the trigger or hit spacebar trigger. hope that helps.

Hi Xenology, remember me? I mentioned frankie in one of the other threads, if you want, we could meet up, I run a pretty big squad, we aren't strict, and help each other out alot, every now and then I schedule meet ups. I aslo get weekly updates on everyones position.

If your interested

my steam name is: jacob9953

Skype is: thepvpincorporated

Sadly our teamspeak isn't working ;(

But please take into consideration you would be  our 10th member, so pl0x don't try anything.

So unless you already have a squad, I wouldn't mind if you wanted to tag along :)

Squad status below

Communication Personal: Chernarus/Full gear

2nd Command: Balota/ Full gear low on food

Sniper: Half-gear/ Elektro

Officer: Full gear/ Elektro

Me: Half gear/ Elektro

Head Officer: Full gear/ Kamyshovo

Officer: Full gear/unaccounted for

Officer: Full gear/unaccounted for

Medic: Kamyshovo/ Full gear

Again, if you want, you could, you don't have to. We don't always roll together, we get meetup every now and then, but mostly just call for reinforcement. Example, my 2nd in command is stuck in Balota,so, I have asked a few guys, and three of us are going in to get him XD

That'd be cool I'd love to see them!

There goes nothing! :D  Alright, I had already done it but somehow Tinypic crashed my session before I could post anything, so this is my second attempt. I'll probly do multiple posts so it dosen't crash again. Free bumps for you sir!

This was the first player I met. I gave him a magnum and some ammo for it (yes, I like to live dangerously... B) ) some food and we stayed together till we got him some water.

2uiixxd.jpg

This was the Sheriff of Berezino, Max Neeson, his deputy Mr. Smiley and some woman named Mason. This was on a light RP server so players might participate or not. Seems like alot participate because before I met them, I encountered a Doctor, a Lumberjack and another guy who didn't name himself who were all doing some light RP, and didn't know each other. I had a great time on this server!!

2gsj3ir.jpg

This was the first time the experimental branch went online. At first it was chaos since there wasn't enough spawn points and since the servers kept resetting, everyone spawned next to each other... I met this guy near the Refy shipwreck and after giving him some food and having a quick chat, we decided to tag along and go explore the new town, Svetlojarsk. Keep in mind that before meeting him, two guys yelling "friendly" tried to "axe" me a question. I'm glad my answer killed them... B)

2my0uw6.jpg

This is Nathan. We had just met and shared a few supplies. He hadn't seen Svetlojarsk yet and asked if he could tag along. I gladly accepted and we headed there.

2j0dxjq.jpg

After some exploration, we encounter a player near the police station and he asked if either of us could give him a saline iv. I then proceeded on helping him.

161yo2o.jpg

We all parted ways shortly after. I went back to the experimental branch when they added the SKS and like I mostly do, headed straight for Refy. (I love the shipwreck) I met this guy who stated he was a shirt salesman. He was a funny friendly guy, but right after I warned him about the dangers of being close to the ships staircase ledges, he then proceeded to plunger to his death...

30tmc2d.jpg

Shortly after, I met another player exploring the shipwreck. We talked for a while, and deciding to trust him, I gave him a revolver with ammo.

v689co.jpg

We searched the rest of the ship and the parted ways.

2uroutx.jpg

The next day, deciding to go back to the stable branch, I logged in one last time in the experimental branch. I encountered this guy and after some chit chat about the DayZ mod and our experiences, I gave him my sks and most of my stuff since I was leaving experimental for a while.

1zlycyg.jpg

After a long break, I came back to the experimental branch. I met these two guys who I just bumped into each other. They were assisting one another so I decided to join in. We talked for a while and decided to tag along. Meet Tom on the left, and Richard on the right. The zombie crawling behind Richard wasn't part of the group and we had to dispose of him.

2iqzwwh.jpg

We played for a good 3 hours and encountered many other players during this time. I'm not showing every one of them but I'll share our first one. After exploring Svetlo, the NEAF,  Kragsnostav* and Khelm we headed for Berezino and found this chap running away from 4 zombies, bleeding heavily. We disposed of the said zombies, bandaged him and provided basic supplies. He thanked us and we continued towards Berezino. After 4 or 5 other players met, we left the town to go inland more.

2akn5op.jpg

In the end, we added each other on Steam for future playtime since we had a great evening. Richard was a DayZ mod vet, but Tom had just started playing a few days ago and was very glad he met us. Honestly I love using VOIP instead of Skype/Steam/Ts/etc. I know it has a lot of tactical disadvantage but for immersion and RP factor, it's awesome!

155j6gp.jpg

And that's enough for now I think...  I didn't show the players I saw but didn't have any kind of interactions with them or the negative ones. Overall I'm having a great time in the stand alone. I loved the mod and I still play it, but it has a very different feel to than the stand alone. Leaving with one last screenshot of my liking. My favorite clothes style and gun combo.

2v8jozo.jpg

Have a great time in DayZ and enjoy the "Alpher" as much as you can! :)
