I helped a guy out...

Recommended Posts

Ok so i was playing a hardcore server with between 35-40 players online, after checking through the small coastal towns on the very south west of the map i came across a guy laying in the road.

i asked if he was friendly and after a short conversation i uncuffed him, gave him food, a canteen and a postal with a few rounds, it was the highest mistake i have

i got shot the second he stood up lol

i eventually found my death location and looted what i could which seemed the guy who killed me had took what he thought was useful, but leaving my 35 slot bag, along with 2 300 round ammo boxes and 3 6 slot protector cases holding my essentials

love how people think killing you is the smarter option

When I meet someone with a gun or I give him a gun, if he raises or shoulders his weapon I immediately shoot him. I don't let even fresh spawns get 10 meters closer to me. If you want to survive in this game don't expect someone to be friendly just because you give him free stuff. And never let your guard down when around people who you don't know.

I never give guns to unknown players. I once had a guy give me 10 rounds for the blaster. he immediately told me if he heard loading sounds he would not hesitate to shoot me. I just waited to load it until he was gone :)

But yeah, real life friends or friends of friends are the only ones who get guns from me. If I don't know you there is no way I will give you a gun and very unlikely I will give you a weapon of any sort. I may show you were an axe is but by the time you pick it up I'm gone.

Most people are killed by bandits so long they get sick of it and become one themselves I find it strange so many forum users are actually heroes why doesn't anybody else usually see you guys?

'Cause heroes lurk in the darkness, move silently and pick their targets. If no bandit has shot you yet... then we are doing our job.

Yes but the amount of times fresh spawned are murdered in high pop. zones yet no hero saves the day for them so they don't constantly die upon spawn.

Welcome to the Deathmatch Permadeath KOS Standalone.

You might as well shoot everyone on sight.  There's no benefit not to do it.  If you don't do it, you'll end up dying a lot.

They should implement a humanity system like the one in my signature below, that would at least BALANCE out the hero vs KOS bandit gameplay.

The problem is: people give a shit about what this game is about, they wanna play deathmatch. Can't blame them, CoD is probably too much of a challenge as your opponents are equally geared, lets rather hunt down fresh spawns and feel badass on the internets.

I love(d) this game, the concept of gameplay is unique, it's just too bad most people seem to server-hop to gear up and then keep trying to play deathmatch only.

I've recommended to game to some friends, 2 of 'em (both avid FPS players) have bought it but are bored already because they kept getting killed by fully geared players over and over as fresh spawns near the coast.

I hardly log in anymore myself for this exact reason, cba to deal with all this deathmatch mentality and people using coms only to shout slurs and instults at you and generally acting tough on the internet, I rather go play CoD then, am equally armed and can mute players if they start to annoy the shit out of me or hop on a good Battlefield-community server where people use proper teamplay and everyone has a good time.

Gonna wait for next patches but I rather play a fast paced round of CoD or BF than a "survival-horror-mmo" where I -while playing the game the way it is meant to be played- only seem to have disadvantages.

I was a huge fan of the Battlefield series until BF3 (skipped BC1 and BC2 though), BF went down the drain with BF3 as it turned too CoDish. Entertaining game nontheless...

When I heard about the concept of DayZ I was like "wow, this is exactly the game you are looking for" as I was a bit bored of all the FPS on the market that don't differ from each other anymore - at all. It's more or less the same games, just different names and slightly different weapons/ gears.

I still can enjoy a round of CoD or BF every now and then, I just was looking for something else and -in theory- DayZ would have fitted my needs perfectly..

DayZ isn't even deatchmatch at the moment, it's people abusing the system to gear up and then go kill ungeared players. It's a shame.

Yeah they ruined BF as of late and I just got the Arma 2 mod as well as SA so I've been having a blast I think once all the patches are in SA will be epic

OKAY OKAY, I admit it, we came to late,  ;( I'm so sorry, by the time we arrived, they had done it... Bodies littered kamy, there was gear every where, spread out and ruined...We saw them, but what could we do... They won, but never again, shall I not take the shot....

I feel your pain but what makes you give a weapon to a complete and total stranger as a good idea? you dont know this person at all. so why did you do it?

imagine walking up to a stranger during a failed bank robbery attempt. total chaos in the street. no cops. you see a stranger. here's a gun, good sir!

Why?

i saw the guy handcuffed up, first thing he could have done was punch me but instead he said thankyou , i gave him a gun to give the guy a fighting chance but that was my mistanke, not many would do the same to me, but if i recieved the weapon, my first thought wouldn't be to shoot the guy who helped me survive.

Real life survival tip #245:  If you harass an unarmed person, don't give them the means to kill you right afterward.

How is releasing him from his handcuffs giving him food and water and a weapon harassment? It wasn't one of those "HANDS UP OR I SHOOT! *gives food and water* NOW DON'T MOVE OR YOU DIE!" things.

if some one did this to me my first reaction would be to join them.i would say "gee, he seems nice, and there is safety in numbers. we can check houses faster, share loot (theres always more then one person needs, you just have to find it first). he already gave me a gun, so why not"

people who go around saying "you cant fix it so just kill everyone" are ironicly the reason why it cant be fixed. this is unfortunitly one of those problems that feeds into itself. a new player gets KOSed right after he figures out how to get to the gear, so he figures thats the aim of the game. sunday night i spawned in a fresh survivor and ran into a building. suddenly i started hearing a faint noise giving orders and my screen started flashing gray. i knew i was probably lagging and getting shot so i ran outside. suddenly bleeding, and sat down. the guy finnished me off and said "dude i had bandages" im not really sure why he mentioned that after killing me, i was in no way a threat.
