Viner Cent 7 Posted March 9, 2014 Basically, I dont think a virus is capable of changing humans to basically zombies (infected), just as we have them in DayZ. Actually, there is are a few parasites capable of changing the way, how their "host" works. it would be a lot more realistic if one of these parasites would have evovled to attack humans, and because humans were never confronted with this kind of parasite they would have lost control over it. So we survivors arent immune, we just had the luck we didnt get those parasites jet, but we have to see we cover every body opening as fast as possible so we dont get infected. That is why gasmasks, helmets and army clothes are important, same as eating food we cooked or is in closed containers, as they cant get in there. For reference to the parasites click the link. tors 5 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) I'm not 100% sold on the idea: a/ because the lore seems so nebulous and undefined, & b/ as parasitism usually involves some kind of symbiotic relationship between parasite and host (whilst being skewed in the parasite's favor) - which i don't really see making sense as regards zombies/infected. however, viruses infect all forms of life, can cross inter-species barriers, and (to my mind at least) seems like a more 'logical' reason for any type of outbreak scenario.
