Horribly uneven loot

I'm playing on a server right now and it is becoming incredibly frustrating. The loot is really, really uneven. I spawned and headed to Electro to get some basic gear before heading north. My usual list is, a backpack, some food, drinks, a decent melee weapon and some sort of top with extra storage slots, I thought this would only take a couple of minutes. At first I thought it would be really quick since I found a fireaxe, lots of food, drinks and even a pistol in the first few houses I tried!

 

Unfortunately, a backpack and a coat still eludes me. I have been looking now for about 40 minutes, going through all the houss and passing by dozens of cans of food and dozens of medical supplies because I can't carry them. There are crowbars, axes and machetes everywhere... And pants .... there are at least 50 pairs of pants of all kinds in electro. And non of the stuff at the end of my checklist.

 

I could understand if it was just electro but I have also checked every house from Solnicky and didn't even see a trace of a child's schoolbag. It's very frustrating and the fact that I'm a stubborn person doesn't help at all. There is loads of loot but It seems like certain kinds just never appear. Has anyone else experienced this?

Honestly it sounds like you've done quite well finding that good gear so fast. Sometimes I don't find a fireaxe till I've found just about every other weapon in the game. I often wish I didn't find backpacks so often. In my most recent life I spawned in, found several children backpacks, a purple Talon backpack, then a hunter's backpack all before finding sticks, rope, and a burlap sack.

 

It's probably bad luck because IMO they are too common.

 

PS: Try heading inland even if those towns seemed looted.

Wouldn't that then be considered pre-stalking, or post-stalking? Must be a hack, damn cheaters...  On the other hand, maybe you didn't go to church recently and you're being punished.

No it's not that I can't find loot, it's just that the loot that has spawned is unbalanced. There is soooo much stuff here. I'm pretty sure the entire server is just unlooted.

This will happen in the...more 'popular' towns.

 

I usually head straight inland when I spawn. I haven't had a problem finding whatever I may need when I'm a couple towns inland.

 

Then again it may be that the server just...bugged out and didn't spawn loot or something. I haven't heard of that happening though.

 

My only advice would be try heading inland, or switching to a different server.

Am not going to sound like an arse here, but this game is a based on survival / apocalypse etc Right?

 

You have to change your game plan every time you spawn back into the game, i.e. is the main locations are looted ( you can tell by the doors being opened ) ? Then you just have to run into the main land.

 

I have had to do this a number of times, so if you spawn near Kamyshovo you can always just run into the main land to Msta or Staroye there has been loads of food/drinks and even the fire axe there. Now the children backpacks are spawning, it can be just as easy just need change your route. Loot will always be random nothing you can do about it, to me which is better for game play and make me feel I want to "survive" and not have the loot handed to me on plate! This also works, if you spwan near the side off Solnichniy, then you can take the road up to Dolina, then to Shakhovka or then curry up north going past towns. A number of times this has saved me.

 

Morale of the story, loot is random and always have a number of plans where you need to get to in the game and different ways/routes to reach your goal!

The first few times I played, I thought "this game actually sucks", just because I joined servers that hadn't reset in a while, and all I could find were rotten fruits.

It wouldn't be a survival game if you could find everything you wanted in 40 minutes.

 

Just think of your happiness when you do find that allusive backpack, all the effort and searching will be worth while, rather than everything just handed to you on a plate.

 

Some things, sometimes appear rare - for about a month i could never seem to find a Mosin, then i found 3 in the space of about 20 minutes.

 

That's what you get in the apocalypse.

Backpacks are overrated anyway. Just throw some beans in your pocket and run inland.

Don't forget you can improvise with a burlap sack and rope (and sticks too).

 

40 mins is nothing in terms of not finding a backpack. If you've always found one in less then you've been lucky.

Why do you want to be geared up fast? The current main goal is to get geared up; why would you want to reach endgame in half an hour? It's boring. Finding a backpack in under an hour is fucking absurd, that takes ridiculous luck (or serverhopping)

Loot is random dude. Part of the tension and fun of the game is not knowing whether you're going to find that exact item you want or need. Inventory space is a commodity, and as such is rare.

 

You really don't even need a backpack to survive. Consume any food and drink you see around when you need it and keep a few bits on you for emergencies. The only thing carrying 30 food items on you does is give the person that shoots you in the face a nice restocking point.

As soon as I spawn a new character, I head in-land to the smaller towns.

 

I usually find everything I need within 15-30 minutes.

That one house spawns a lot of backpacks usually. You know that one house? With the mini-bar and tables everywhere. Not the yellow corner café, the red brick house.

Its weird, I was able to find a sniper rifle easily the first time but I haven't found one since..... Right now all I have is a pistol.  >:(
