Long Range Scope question

Recommended Posts

Quick question- does the quality rating (Badly damage, damaged, worn, pristine) effect the accuration of the LRS? I've looked and seen multiple views, but no real answer.

I cant tell you for sure but I have a badly damaged one and it seems pretty accurate. Killed someone last night from at least 600m

I think the damaged one is more "dirty"

I think the general condition of the gun matters more than the condition of the scope. If there's any effect at all its minimal.

I don't think so. It's weird that the lens is not cracked like a damaged acog hope they will fix it

No. Your shots will always hit slightly left of the crosshairs, no matter the condition of the sight.

So theres no difference between damaged and pristine? Seems legit. Good to know though. Dont have to look further because I found a badly damaged lrs yesterday

btw, that issue is fixed on experimental build - so probably also fixed in stable tomorrow.

Not yet, but there will be eventually.

I tested this last night - me and my mate swapped between a pristine and a damaged long range scope and there was no difference that we could tell apart from the actual condition of the lens where you can see small cracks and other shit. But the accuracy seemed to be the same. Tested on all ranges from 100m to 800m.

In the latest experimental patch they fixed that i believe

Nope just the cleanliness/clarity of the optic.  As others have pointed out the LRS has a coding issue which results in the actual path of the bullet being slightly left of the cross-hair intersection.  This has been fixed on the Experimental branch servers and will be fixed with the next update to Stable branch servers which should be today.

It seems to greatly increase my recoil... when not equipped.

Can a Damaged Long Range Scope be used? Does it shoot straight? Can you see through it?

I found two on this guys dead body and want to know if i should keep them.

Thanks!

You can see trough it as long as it's not ruined as far as I know, but the scope won't be calibrated and you'll need to find a quiet spot to see where your bullets land when you shoot.

So does that mean a damaged scope may shoot to the left.... like every time? or is it gonna shoot off center in a random direction each time you fire?
