Got at least 60-80 hrs in so far......not killed one person yet.  Helped a few....died by a few but have never fired on another person.  Seen quite a few from a distance but just let them be and went on my way.  I'd probably open fire on someone that was doing wrong to a player if it came up but so far, it's been single players I've seen.

I am right along with you, but have about 150hrs in game.  I have not fired on a single survivor, I have not killed a single survivor.

 

The problem with the question is there is no "black and white", the world of DayZ is all grey.  Even in your statement, you say "I'd probably open fire on someone that was doing wrong to a player.." but if you are at a distance, how do you know the whole story.  So your actions are (in your mind) good because you are helping someone who appears to be having wrong done to them, but they may have indeed just slaughtered the other persons entire band of buddies..  Every action, and counter action in DayZ is too situational to say you are good or evil.

 

I will not willingly, without cause, ever take a life in DayZ.... that being said, what is "just cause"?

 

If someone fires at me, hell yes I will return fire and kill or be killed, but if someone punches you, do you need to murder them?

 

Everyone has their own definition of what warrants reaction.  I have been fired at by people whilst running around, I chose to keep running.  Some people would try to pinpoint said person, go track them, flank them and kill them.  Each reaction is perfectly acceptable.

 

So for me, I would have to say I am a good person, who can be driven to do evil things by the actions of other individuals (thought they would have to be extreme actions)

This is a flawed poll.

 

There's nothing to distinguish good vs evil in the game.  There is no humanity system.

 

Playing one day as good, and two days as evil..............doesn't mean you're evil.  Doing 10 good acts, then 2 evil acts, doesn't mean you're good.

 

Most people KOS, which is in itself an evil act.  I don't even bother interacting anymore, KOS is the only way to play the game if you don't want to lose your shit.  There is no measurement of how good or evil you are in-game.

 

You might as well put a poll in:

 

Do you KOS?

Yes

No

Maybe

 

It would be equally valid.  You'd get people posting whatever they wanted, with absolutely no basis in reality in-game.  No statistics, no actual measurement.  Just people posting a random choice.

 

If they had a real humanity system, DayZ could publish some actual stats that would be REAL.
