Zombies Repairing Gear

I don't know if this is a known issue, but It seems that gear, only wearable items (press vest and moto helmet so far).. I've picked up damaged and badly damaged gear, and after being hit by a zombie, it becomes pristine. Now, the press vest i had stayed pristine when i swapped servers, and Ill find out if this moto helmet will soon enough.

I've had this happen with a ballistic helmet before. I thought I was just crazy.

We've experienced the "eat to repair construction helmets" bug. So I guess this doesn't seem particularly outlandish.

picked up a press vest at the train station in svetlo and put it on.

Got hit by a zed and my press vest went from "Damaged" to "Pristine".

 

Come to think of it my boots and combat helmet never seem to take damage unless ruined by a firearm direct hit.
