You guys saying hardcore servers are friendlier are just talking bullshit.

It was an 8/40 server too.

And I was in Berezino.

This is the reason why I almost never play DayZ because I get nervous and start shaking. Yes, for real. And I can't stop it.

Overall I think they are. However, there are bandits/ KoS types on all servers. Basing your opinion on one single encounter is like driving a Lada and saying all cars are shit. Play a while longer :)

How does hardcore make a difference?

Who told you that?

See, the thing is, hardcore servers DID have more friendly and legit players UNTIL all the posts showed up here mentioning it. Then, some of the douchey type players decided to go to the new hunting ground.

It's just like naming your server "no kos", it draws all the asshats in.

I certainly wouldn't say hardcore servers are any friendlier. In fact the only conclusions I would level at them is that the players tend to be older.

Now, experimental, I think they *are* a little friendlier, but only just and only because a lot of players tend to be on them in order to test stuff out rather than just racking up the kill count.

I've actually only shot 2 guys in a hardcore server who were handcuffing some defenseless dude. Other than that I've met more than 30 players on hardcore servers and they were cool. Maybe I'm just lucky. But I really think I must have forgotten something

Like ricp said, try out the experimental servers if you truly want to encounter more friendly players.  They are too busy testing out the new changes as they roll out to waste time camping new spawns.  You WILL encounter some asshats but in comparison to the stable servers, it is a MUCH better experience.

1.5 million people play the game, can't make an assumption based on a 40 man server bro's

I joined a different server, low amount of people, ran up north, mosin, painted it green, red down jacket, hunter pants, etc etc, feel satisfies. didn't meet a single soul.

I played on a hardcore server for the first time yesterday and met up with two people in Elektro within two minutes who were both friendly. One was operating one of those "random stuff all over the street" stores and the other was scoping him out until he saw me run up and not get attacked.  I got an axe and a can opener, so I stuck around and chatted with them...through in game voice chat like a couple of dumbasses.

Within five minutes though, we were under attack by a couple guys with m4s. I managed to kill one with my axe without being injured somehow, stole his m4, and we hid inside a building. The other guy opened the door and was greeted by two of us blasting him into oblivion.

Not much different than regular servers, but I dont hop on DayZ looking to play red rover and ring around the rosey.  I kind of enjoyed the greater level of intensity and unknown that a lack of 3pp brings.

I've played +/- 85 hours on regular server, have had +/- 10 minutes of "friendly interaction"

Recently I've decided to try hardcore servers, spent 3hours on a full one, 3 hours of friendly interaction.

Maybe I've just been lucky but I'm clearly not going back to regular.

I play at night during the week on european servers.

That's actually pretty awesome. Many people crave an immersive game that has the power to rattle you so.

And I can see why hardcore would result in less KOS. More of your player interaction is spontaneous whereas regular mode lets you 3PP camp with guns hot ready to pounce on someone who can never see you coming until its too late.

You can certainly do that in hardcore but it takes more discipline.

Just cause you go to HC does not change the fact you are playing DayZ.  There could be one (1) other person on the server and he may still shoot you in the face.

Europe isn't full of kiddies and tryhards, most people are actually friendly towards you. Hardcore are also better because the kiddies and tryhards don't generally play on those servers.

But your own op and the basis of this thread kinda points to it being otherwise no offence to europeans or anywhere else i have travelled alot of countries and i find there are nice people everywhere there also assholes everywhere to.... Kiddies and tryhards are not country or continent specific or view specific for that matter...
