Lorax 99 Posted February 27, 2014 Hello all, So I haven't been able to find any info on this "armPainAche" I have. I'm in the current experimental build and I know it's new, hence why there isn't any info out there. So if anyone else has any experience please post. At the moment I've found people discuss broken arms and that your aiming will be shaky with a broken arm, but my aiming doesn't seem shaky at all. The injury was from a zombie so could it be an infection that will start to spread? Ideas? I do have morphine but don't want to use it for something that doesn't seem to affect me. I'll look for some painkillers and see if those help, but last I read they are still useless. Maybe I'll be able to find a stick to make a splint and try that.

Zarniwoop 1193 Posted February 27, 2014 I'm getting the same after getting axed in the arm. I can't see any noticable difference when firing a gun though.
omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted February 27, 2014 "armPainAche" reminds me of "man door hand hook car door"
namco-4 50 Posted February 27, 2014 It means your arm is broken and your aim decreases significantly over distance. Morphine will fix this.
smoq2 221 Posted February 27, 2014 It means your arm is broken and your aim decreases significantly over distance. Morphine will fix this. Sounds like this. Apparently, you can also have your arm broken in stable. Someone shot me once, and my hoodie got ruined. I survived, and even killed my attacker, but after a while (next day I think) I noticed that my LRS reticule is shaking like crazy. I thought that maybe there was some minor update that increased weapon sway, but after checking there wasn't, I decided to use that spare splint that I had. Everything went back to normal right after. The message said "You fixed your legs" though. :D
VeritechHT1 (DayZ) 18 Posted March 2, 2014 I received this message today on experimental (0.37.115791) but don't understand how it can be an arm fracture as others have suggested. There is a 'Fracture' status icon in-game and yet none is displayed after this message appears. In addition, when you take painkillers nothing happens. I don't see why one should waste a morphine auto-injector when this is something that should heal itself or go away after taking painkillers. I view this as a symptom of a deep bruise and not a fracture. Anyway, there is a bug report at the Feedback Tracker: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=9370. McGarnagle 94 Posted March 3, 2014 Had a buddy just get this the other day. I wonder when they snuck it in, because it wasn't in any patch notes that I've seen. Kinda cool idea, I guess, though it should need a splint in the long-term if they want it to feel authentic. Having morphine fix it would be like adding in-game Ritalin that permanently slows down time, while increasing the FOV to 360. It's obviously not a bug... Come on, seriously? How would a bug magically generate text to describe itself? If there's any bug-like aspect to it, it's just that they haven't finished it.

I'm not sure if your statement is in response to my post, but to be clear if there is a bug it is the fact that if there is a fracture there should be a red 'Fracture' status icon in the inventory/ragdoll UI. Yes, I do believe the 'armPainAche' text message is a placeholder until they develop other messages (I.e. 'I feel a strong pain in my arm'). But again, if there is a fracture, then one would assume the fracture icon would appear as well: that would be a bug in my opinion. Not the fact that you can get arm fractures or the text messages. Anyway, in my case I used morphine and the symptoms and text messages went away.
