mosibfu 71 Posted February 27, 2014 Dear mooky32, All you wanted to do is survive, you panicked, and someone that approached you too fast payed the price. Actually i think the player that approached you like that is at fault, He should have stayed out of your line of sight, at least until the situation was properly defused. Being friendly in this game, means giving people their personal space, and if you bump into people, try and let them go their own way. If i get approached, I will tell people I don't want to shoot them, and they should back up and leave me my personal space. when they do, I will ask them if they need help, if they do, i will leave supplies/whatever behind, and tell them to come for it when im gone (and i will tell them when i move out).If i approach people, I will either pull a gun on them, tell them to get on the floor, and if they comply ask if they require assistance. If they turn towards me, or ignore my request.. i will open fire, i am just trying to survive. To get your karma back up, try and scare off bandits, and feed some bambi's, just make sure you give them no opportunity to attack you.
Silentine 44 Posted February 27, 2014 Its DayZ, its raw and brutal, unfair and literly battle of survival.I am playing hero and a guy I met too late passed away literly in my arms, worst thing is, he never knew or found out I was a hero.We spotted eachother from the distance, zombies were already on him, I did not wanna shoot from distance risking hitting him, I sprinted towards him but as I got closer he fell on the ground uncounsious, I cleared the zombies but he passed away as I was bandiging him.Its DayZ, its like the Walking Dead, raw, brutal and unforgiving. mooky32 308 Posted February 27, 2014 You lost sleep over this?Yes. Guilt is a tough bedfellow. The feelings that coursed through me after this shooting sparked an extreme internal reaction.I couldn't eat and felt nauseous. My wife actually sat down with me and talked it through. She basically told me I shouldn't play such games if they are having such a profound effect.I keep thinking about that players last moment and how he felt.It still hurts..... Eight Ball 26 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Have you tried flagellating yourself ? If it doesn't work and the pain to your heart is really unbearable you could always try a pinch of pepper in the eyes, should move the pain temporaly.Did that with a friend who severly burned his hand, totally work ! After that his hand was the least of his concern and he even bursted into tears and scream (of relief and gratefulness I guess) Edited February 27, 2014 by Sooke

Hetstaine 10852 Posted February 27, 2014 You know the ones with 2000+ forum posts who have more chance of raising the titanic than raising a smile during any one of their miriade of god awful posts.Generally the cut of these dude posts is so mind numbingly dull that deep root canal treatement would be preferable whilst being subjected to anal probing simultaneously. They will generally cut in with a "don't feed the troll" comment or something. At that point they then tick a little box on their clipboard against - TASK 1: Add daily post to Dayz Forum in order to extend my "back catalogue"At that point they then sit down and wank themselves off furioulsy whilst donning finger puppets. Box ticked. Wanking furiously with finger puppets.. ....furiously.

By now this guy is probably hanging in his closet so I would change the tone if I were you.You ask for advice you get some. You don't like them...well then ask for more advice or just be more specific : "I would like an advice with blue eyes, blond hair, passionate for rainbows and ants. Thank you very much"Some of us are still pure inside, all pink and shiny. We are there but we can only help you if you first help yourself (and for that, I reiterate, flagellation is a very good start). Eight Ball 26 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Yeah, I don't know about you but I'm already starting to feel better. That's probably the satisfaction of helping someone else and I'm sure one day you will be the one giving a hand to someone in need. You did horrible things in the past but if you start right now acting for the good of all, well...well it won't change anything but I guess some people will find a way to be proud of you. Good luck. r3volution (DayZ) 19 Posted February 28, 2014 Thanks bro, this forum therapy is helping more than you could know. That player was maybe thinking, 'hell yeah, life is good, gonna make me some online friends today, I am going to be fundamentally a GOOD PERSON'To have that RIPPED from his life by some trigger happy guy, with admittedly good looks and a winning personality. All of that snuffed out. He may have kicked his dog after that, his illusions shattered by an unthinking fool (with an MBA).Beware the ides of March Mooky, karma calls for such as you.I still feel the pain, like a shard of glass has penetrated my icy heart. Glad to have helped mate. It's tough having a sense of empathy and ethics in a game which (if the posts in this are anything to go by) does not have a particularly empathetic or ethical player population. But it's nice to see you're not letting the masses sway your opinion. ;) I'm also not blaming the victim here, but as someone pointed out if you just race up to someone in the game it does tend to generate a greater chance of these sort of situations. If I encounter another player in this game I'll usually hail them from a fair way away and let them know I'm there (from cover, cuz, safety first). If I run into them in a house or something I'll race back out of there to somewhere safe and then hail them to see if they're friendly. I've even managed to defuse potential axefests this way, because often people's first reaction on having another player literally run into them is to lash out with whatever is to hand. Caution is the key from ALL sides, if anyone wants to survive an encounter with an unknown player.
archone88 29 Posted February 28, 2014 Your killing spree thread was pretty entertaining!! And you had my beans! ;) But this thread, does kind of wreck the personality you had last time. And you fail to amuse me.. Better luck next time sir! :D
oregonized 673 Posted February 28, 2014 I dumped a whole 30 round magazine into a guy the other day because he startled me. He tried yelling "FRIENDLY!" but it was too late. The moral of the story is, don't sneak up on people who are constantly trying to avoid being murdered.

Oh the humanity Bckwrds! I will do as you say *sob* and push that self loathing deep into the pit of my stomach. I will let it fester and build up till the point it explodes in an orgy of madness. For instance I might go into the local supermarket and re-arrange a shelf display in a fit of utter rage.As for Itchy, if he is the last of his kind, then yes it is the end. We need more utter nutcases, with massive egos and the ability to dispense abuse on tap. What will become of us.......I am going out (to the store) and maybe some time.....
