Please remove falling damage until you FIX the stairs/ladders

Fall damage is something that's still in the works, I believe they've implemented a system where if you are carrying too many things and if you fall off a high height, you may die.

No, I'm not. This is a very frequent occurrence. Try climbing up any of the ladders in the apartment buildings. They are buggy as hell. I have died at least ten times from falling off a ladder.

I never have anything in my hands yet I still fall off. I have died twice now in 12 hours in the cherno apartment buildings. Won't ever make the mistake of going back there.

I fell off the ladder in the apartment building, broke my legs, but luckily I had a splint with me.

 

Rather than come to the forums and bitch about fall damage and broken ladders, I did the logical thing and simply avoided that ladder. I haven't even tried to climb it since that incident. Every other ladder in the game I've come across has given me no problems.

 

It's amazing that you've died 10 times to a buggy ladder, but you keep going back expecting the results to be different.

Anyone remember that bug where there was no fall damage, when they did the emergency update? I broke my.legs in Berezino, crawled to the BF3esque yellow crane and vaulted off... 7 times till.some guy was like LUL$TUPIDNEWB and beat me with his fists.

It's completely random. I hadn't fallen off a ladder in weeks before this morning. I fell, broke my legs, popped a morphine, and away I went. I think it's mostly to do with desync; at the time it occurred I had an ugly yellow chain on my screen. :T

every metal staircase seems to break my legs 50% of the time I go up or down them, seriously.

This...they actually turned off fall damage at one point, people complained about not being able to commit suicide because of it so they added it back in.  Can't please everyone.

So instead of coming to the website for an ALPHA release and discuss bugs that may affect the final game, your decision is to keep it to yourself and just live with the bugs? Wow, that makes a lot of sense man.

seriously fix metal stairs.

hardcore, regular, experimental. the #1 cause of broken legs.

 

also, check your ping and dysnc by pressing "P" before climbing any ladders.

it'll save you from dysncing through the animation transition from climbing to standing.

also spam the direction you face into to avoid falling before you move forward.

edit: I never go on ladders in server with ping higher than 100

+ only climb stairs that have rails on each side

Nope. If I thought I was the first person to discover this bug, I would have gone to the bug tracker and posted it there. But, since I had already heard a lot of complaining about it, I didn't feel like that was needed.

 

Reporting bugs in the right area is great, nobody will criticize you for doing that. But coming to the discussion forums and asking for fall damage to be removed because of ladder bugs, is just silly.

 

We all have to 'just live with the bugs', as testers all we can do is report them and wait for the developers to get around to fixing them. Dying over and over to a bug is not going to get them fixed any faster.

The developers monitor the feedback tracker. They don't respond to the loudest screams on the discussion forum(thank god). This forum is mainly for the players to talk amongst themselves.
