Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

Fuck me, it's as bad as the 'humanity' subject.

 

Maybe HC servers are unpopulated because the majority don't like em. 

 

 

I know, shocking, right...

I like 1pp but KOS and camping is much easier in 3pp so I play that instead.

I feel completely safe going against a group who outnumbers and outguns me from distance because if I see them first, thanks to corner peeking they can't do shit to me. I can use the same tactics here that I could in Gears of War or CoD 3rd person view mode which makes it more enjoyable.

 

I would have liked the game to be FPS only from the start but hey, in the end it is the game's loss if it lets me corner peek and camp with zero risk. If the game allows me to do it, I will do it.

First of all it is not popular..it sux(especuially with bugged sound)  it is not even hardcore it is easy core ...(3PP is actually Hardcore)...Hardcore community in Arma games was allways weak and not popular...nowdays many players coming from other First person games in Arma do not realising that Arma games is not FPS games if you want fps should play game which is fps not this game...3pp  is harder,more tactical..with more dinamic fun and fast paced gameplay...therefore 80 % of players prefere 3PP..proven in mod as it is here...i hope this answering your question...i have so many facts that supports 3pp...trust me when Zombies come in their full power you will see even less hardcore players...this game  simply is  not good for first person..Map is huge many threats..(this is not small map with few rutes which is easy to controll)  in Hardcore if somebody see 's you first you simply do not have chance in 3 PP you can still dfend and find a way......campers freedem..orientation chaos..there is so many reasons why "easycore" is not popular...should have some insane and reworked FoV  to barelly work properly here...with this FoV and sound gameplay is cripled...and even then will sux anyways...but at least will be playable and more fun as it is now...majority of players will play 3pp ofc

Neither view is hardcore.. Its preference..

Seems actually the majority of those who play on 1st person only is to get away from the 3rd person view advantage.. Considering it can be fixed so 3rd person wouldnt have a advantage, Im sure the 1st person only servers would be much more underpopulated than even now if they did fix it which is possible..

I prefer both views, as why I dont play 1st person only servers and never will unless im in the mood to run around cherno or elektro and such... In my opinion this is also how alot of people feel as why the 1st person only servers are underpopulated and probably always will be.

Ill deal with the fact that I have to take in account for people possibly looking over the wall at me whenever im in a town..

I also prefer that they fix 3rd person view so you cant see whats on the otherside of walls and around corners...Which it can be fixed without just taking away 3rd person view.. 2017 mod shows this is possible.. Ill probably end up playing that mod alot because of it.

Don't worry no one will care in a year. All they (Bohemia) had to do was grow a pair, stop being greedy and make solid decisions. Basically they should have just removed 3PP, but no - the whiners win again. Gotta get that console money yo!

 

Now with Dean leaving, the whole things doomed - uninstalling SA as I write this.

Personally I look forward to playing a game with numerous hard to kill zombies. I fell playing that sort of environment in lamecore would be less rewarding. So with those two things in mind I'm not sure if your logic holds up.

I don't think some of you are getting it.  There are players out there who play on regular servers in 1pp because they have friends who only play 3pp.  This puts them at an extreme disadvantage usually when they have to meet up their friends.  They can use their 3pp buddies to help spot but again, they still need to meet up with them.

Well, this subject hasn't been done to death a million times. I'd like to throw a point into the mix here, if regular is easier than hardcore because you can see other people without them ever having the chance to see you then by definition it is more hardcore than hardcore during the times that another player has the drop on you.

 

So the most hardcore moments in DayZ are found on 3PP servers.
