Can we get a fix on the random crashes to desktop, its completly random, and normally more than one of my friends is around me or I them and we all crash at the exact same time. Is this being looked into?

Don't see why it would be more expensive to run a 150 people server.

More people cause higher traffic, traffic cost money. So if u rent a gameserver GSP usual set prices per slot.

If you have your own root it depends on your trafficpackage.

Ok will stick to those under 100ms then.

Btw painted SKS is glitched and you can chamber 1 round only or you have to use clip to load 10 bullets.

Kinda boomer bug since the same case was with Mosin.

 

aight. Hope they knew about this SKS bug and fixed it before releasing it on stable this coming Wednesday.

It is true. It has been investigated and confirmed. It's the Black Forest Phenomenon, and I think it is intended.

 

desync is terribad on experimental at moment. that along with bad melee animation sync equals bleeding 24/7 :lol:

Terrible rubber banding, warping, lagging, desyncing last night. Tried three different hc-servers all ping under 50. Every time zombie attacks me ---> yellow chain. Running at the coast, you warp back. Really anoying. Wasn't like this in 0.37. Any kind of communication with other players imposible as they are warping all over the place.

who investigated and confirmed that this is intended...could not find anything from official side ....but if ...a dream would come true  :)

It's great and all but can we please get these 3 basic things working before adding other stuff??? :

 

Optimized the game, so you can actually play on normal or good graphics!

Respawning loot!

More Zombies!

 

Before you fix these things none of the things you add really matter.

i live out in the country aka "the woods", and when we were younger we'd go out at night and play hide and seek and whatever, and we could always see just fine, no artificial light around, it takes a special kind of night to be dayz dark lol, to me a typical moonlit night should be closer alan wake, a little bit darker would be fine, but somewhere around how alan wake is.

 

Agreed, I also grew up in the sticks and find you only come across DayZ darkness when its fully overcast with no moon. 

Its hard to say how far you would see on "typical" night, I am sure Dean will address the level of darkness if enough people raise it as an issue.

 

Obvously Kobeandodom brought this up because of a server bug sending different day cycles to players but I always found the darkness in DayZ to be unrealistic and honestly pretty unplayable. 

Ok, night in DayZ is a little too dark, but in my opinion, changing gamma is much more unrealisitc, also changing the server just because you want to play in day light is very unrealistic. The game should force all players too see same degree of darkness and should force players to play at night from time to time.

 

They wanted to make night in DayZ realistic, night duration time to be in real hours, but this is useless because we can choose from day and night servers. I would prefer to have the night in DayZ last only 2 hours, and day 8 hours. I would accept this unrealistic fact just because it would be more fun to be forced to play when night comes (night on all servers, per hive). Due to this difference - 8 hours day, 2 hours night it will naturally happen to play most of the time in day time and from time to time you will have to play at night; or night coming unexpectedly. But this is just my vision. I don't kow how many of you can imagine or enjoy the game like this.

Learn to read - especially the warnings on steam and right before you start playing

Uninstall the game and don't come back until the game is released as a full game

Learn to read - especially... Ah who the hell reads the warnings anyway.. People like you will never learn!

I can see why they didn't want to release this patch, it must be one of the worst yet.

 

Everything somehow feels clunkier and my performance is all over the place, even worse than before, desync and lag are completely through the roof, and zombies insta-respawning right in front of me all the time is beyond a joke when they still see and run through walls. I am really not sure how they have broken so much in a single patch without actually fixing any of the important things that already were broken.

 

I didn't get chance to test the new weapons, they look great but this is the first time since standalone launched that I really was not in the mood to play this game. I'm sure this stuff will get fixed down the line, but blimey, this was a really bad patch and the increasing severity of problems is really taking the fun out of it.

They'll get it fixed, i'm sure. I'm glad they've been holding off on releasing to stable. I want them to get things fixed. When this one goes to stable it will also seem like a bigger patch because they have been holding off on it. While they are fixing some of these things, they will likely be adding more stuff in as they do, so i'm cool with that. Get-er-done right!

Performance issues came with 0.42 not 0.37 which is beeing worked on for stable...

Only reason why it wasn't released for stable have been problems with invisible players and zeds for some clients.

0.37 was quite stable and had better performance than 0.35

I agree and that's the risk we run playing on experimental, but this patch is going to need a ton of polish before it's ready for stable.

His opinion on what needs fixing in terms of priority was totally valid. You get a fail for that reply.

 

SKS is doing the same thing the mosin did with only one round loading after a paint job

 

I know right, you would have expected them to learn from the mistake the first time round wouldn't you. I'm putting money on the next weapon that becomes paintable having the exact same issue. Either that or the next weapon they will claim is paintable and in actual fact isn't (like the axe)

And my worry is that you can't polish a turd, i fear some of the updates in this one will fall into the "we cant fix these lets leave them around for so long that hopefully people will get used to them" category like the clipping zombies, axe bullet sounds, and random ambient drinking/splitting/zombie noises to name a few.
