Little guide to play UNICEF in DayZ

Recommended Posts

Okay, so after doing some really bad stuff and getting really bored, I decided to go help some newspanws, as life in DayZ these days can be really difficult, due to all of the glitches and bugs.

Also, people seem to be desperate to get some "human interaction" in DayZ, so here you go:

Basic tips:

-Do it in high populated servers along the coast from Berezino to Solnichniy

.

-Don't wear military clothing, at least not a full set (nothing wrong with TTsKO pants), and obviously, NO GAS MASKS.

-Always carry a gun with +50 rounds and a fireaxe, most newspaws are assholes who just lost it all and want to kill mindlessly, be ready to kill lots of them, even in front of the newspawn you are helping. They'll thank you. Also watch out for blood thirsty bandits like the ones I used to be part of.

-MOST IMPORTANT: It is a rule, don't be a dumbass, get a Pristine Motorbike Helmet, and paint it with a Green Spraycan, while you're helping a newspawn in a high-pop server, another one will most likely try to sneak on you. I took like 6 hits to the head from 2 different newspaws while giving one guy food and a canteen, it didn't even make me bleed, the Motorbike Helmet is a life saver.

-Wear the best civilian clothes you find in good condition.

-Don't waste ammo on a "running" newspawn who tries to ambush you and fails, one hit with the fireaxe and he's dead.

-Obviously go as packed up as you can on food and water, also bring a medikit full of bandages, you never know. And give the "Rags" of your previously killed newspawns (for whatever reason) to the newspawns you decide to help.

-Feel free to shoot any newspawn between the eyes if he's too much of an asshole. You don't have to be there, and it's obviously not your obligation to help them.

-Don't be too nice and trusting. Be correct and helpful.

------

I hope this gives you some gameplay ideas, and remember, IMMERSION is the most important part of it.

Good luck to anyone who tries this playstyle  :) .

(I just got tired of being evil and backstabbing 24/7).

I personally wouldnt use the bike helmet, Ive seen too many bandits at the coast wearing them.

Do as you wish, but you want to keep your head safe from being KO'd in one hit.

1 Fire axe hit takes down a player? I know that's true for all zombies but not players. Useful to know...

If he's a newspawn yes. Hit as close to the head as you can and that'll be it for him.

My MO:

1. Stay in the treeline.
2. Watch them. Watch them eat. Watch them sleep.
3. Slay them with your axe.
4. Season to taste
5. Open your backpack and pull out your hacksaw.
6. .....Wait a minute

Right. A guide, a not a Cookbook. Sorry.

Just for cooking's sake don't forget to get their clothes off. And share with zombies.

That helmet is the best defense item in the game right now...I don't play without one

I hate that motorbike helmet. It's the ugliest thing in the game! :p I prefer to run around with a cap or beanie and then switch to a ballistic helmet if I'm expecting trouble.

But yeah, I get why you'd wear it in that situation.

I plan on leaving caches of stuff in some of the outskirts of towns on the coast, rather than helping freshies directly. A canteen, some cans & something to open them with, a melee weapon or a pistol and a few rounds if I can spare it and a little note. The note will have the line from my signature, plus I'll let them know where they are (for the really fresh guys who haven't played much) and a tip to head inland.

only one problem the leaving little caches is one of the favorite moves by bandits any freshieswho have been caught by bait before will bypass the little pile and move at speed away lol.

But i commend the effort...

Lol yeah I thought of that, that's why I won't be leaving them in obvious places. I'll put them in houses, and in the factories on the outskirts of towns. Places where the freshie will likely explore but will feel a bit safer than if they saw a cache sitting the middle of the street. :p

What does this thread have to do anything with Unicef? 8l

I once heard someone saying that going to the coast after gearing up to help newspawns in playing UNICEF.

So it's kind of a bad joke/reference.
