New to Online Games, What is Teamspeak?

The title basically says it all. Ive never played an online game with other people, and I keep hearing the term "teamspeak" no idea what it is. what is it

You can also chat by typing but it's a pain to read/use because it involves alot of alt tabbing.

You can have more than one room on the one Team-Speak server too.

So for example, on one server - there may be a room called "Hero-Chat" where Hero's (and those pretending to be) will hang out and discuss things whilst playing, and you might have another room called "Bandit-Chat" where the bandits hang out and talk in numbers. It's also a really good way go get involved with the community, and when private hives get implemented for public use, I'll be finding a server with a good ping and joining their teamspeak to get involved with those who play their regularly.

You can set up your own server, renting is not necessary. Server binaries are avaliable so you can either host a server on your pc or use a old pc as server.

if I play game and I want to speak to guy in game I use direct :thumbsup:  :rolleyes:

 

sometime the guy is not close enough for listen what I say in direct so I don't say nothing

 

for me is break immersion when I have conversation with guys who are on opposite side of map :huh:

 

but I understand too many guys like this system so for me is not problem if guys using

 

is exploit but is not terrible one also if guys doing LAN party they have instant communicate power also look on other guys screen exploit power and this never stop so I don't worry for this and is not make me stress :)  

 

for me game dayZ is best for playing with no 3rd party assist but I know I am in the minority of pure hardcore DayZ players :thumbsup:  B)

:lol: Like others said, its a VOIP program that allow you to talk to other people in your clan (if you have one) or friends. Personally, my two clans use Ventrillo and Mumble which I think are better programs than TeamSpeak.

Skype is WAY better followed by Ventrillo second.

Vent has too much delay from what I remember, and Mumble just refuses to work on my computer for some reason. TS is superb.

I have never noticed any problems with Vent. We have had our own server for a couple years now and use it for our clan, running public events in games and other stuff. Its pretty awesome. Have you used it recently? I actually did have trouble with Mumble myself at first but it works well now.

I haven't used Vent for a few years. Since switching to TS though I can't look back, I love it.

Yeah, there really isn't a big difference between any of them anymore. Its just personal preference.

lol Yeah, our Vent is like that when we do public events until our leader threatens to kick people if they don't stop talking.
