The reason why the Mosin shoots slightly left ?! (long range scope)

Recommended Posts

Anyone else noticed that the crosshairs of the long range scope are not in the middle of the screen ?

I checked it with a ruler and saw that the center of the scope is 2,5 mm to far right. (depending on screen size)

So this is causing that "magical" left pull, i think.

To the guys with scopes:

Please check this on your monitor and tell if it's the same.

It has to do with your FOV and desktop resolution, and use of 16x9, 16x10 or 4x3 desktop resolutions (note how it doesn't happen in a 4x3 with the default FOV) You can get it to center correctly, but it's easier to just account for the discrepancy.

The mosin is the most accurate.

Probably better to say it has the least random dispersion..

It has no random dispersion. Thus it is the most accurate because the dispersion is fixed.

You have it correctly in 1920 x 1080? If so, can you post a screenshot from the FOV settings please? :beans: :beans: :beans:

i find in 16 x9 it doesnt shoot left if you dont zoom beyond bringing the scope up if you watch when you zoom in the zoom travels to the left

It has random dispersion. You just don't notice it up to maybe 500 meters.

Myself not having any experience with guns, look at it like my character is shooting pretty much how I would IRL.

So it is very immersive for me! :)

LOLlike i say its not the gun its the zoom on the scope thats out... Its real noticable i play on a 65 inch screen so i can line long shots up with out using the zoom in and its dead straight but hold the right mouse down to zoom it peels to left as it zooms in

No mine veers ~.5md to the left in 1920x1080 at 500m. I just account for it. I have a pretty wide FOV, but not quite "Quake style".

yeah is that with it zoomed in or just the scope up???
