Rick1633 136 Posted February 20, 2014 I thought about starting a business that uses koreans or thai people, etc to gear up your character while you are at work. Is there a low cost asian business that does this?
kichilron 8550 Posted February 20, 2014 I don't know what you're epxecting to happen, but maybe you should read the rules again before planning on offering a service. 1) No Spam / Advertising:Advertising of any commercial product or service on these forums is not permitted. Chain letters and pyramid schemes are similarly prohibited. This includes the Personal Message Service and clan recruitment outside of the Clan recruitment forum.
Kalibyr 4 Posted February 20, 2014 I don't know what you're epxecting to happen, but maybe you should read the rules again before planning on offering a service. No advertisement here sir. Just a friendly player trading services is all. It's under the "Fair Trade Act" I believe. I can trade you an M4 for a LRS on the forums, why can't I trade you all of my gear for other services? Kalibyr 4 Posted February 20, 2014 Hmmm or I could just play the game for a couple of hours? Sure, I have no qualms with this. If you enjoy the grind, feel free to immerse yourself with Day Z to your hearts galore sir.

You have been smart enough to not say anything in those regards, yet tagged your topic with "Powerleveling", which is being paid for. What services are you expecting in return? Sure, I have no qualms with this. If you enjoy the grind, feel free to immerse yourself with Day Z to your hearts galore sir. That's the only thing that makes DayZ. Searching for gear and lose it eventually. And what you're offering most likely involves a private server with a kickrule for anyone that's not you so you're actually able to collect everything that's needed. ParaB 114 Posted February 20, 2014 I don't know what's sadder. Offering such services in a computer game or the knowledge that there most probably are people who would indeed pay for it.
Kalibyr 4 Posted February 20, 2014 And You wanna get paid for that? Are You serious? hahahaha :D Well "paid" is a strong term. This isn't a business, nor is it a scam. I'm not powerleveling your character for an outrageous amount of time and charging by the hour. All I'm doing is providing gear to people who may or may not have the time to. Also the game may be more interesting for newbies if they can actually have access to the same items as veterans. When's the last time you dropped an M4 for a fresh spawn? All I'm trying to do is make sure this game can be enjoyed equally to all players of skill and size.

We have threads here advertising trades, requests for medical services, etc. What, if not real world money, is worth all of your items you hold in game? What could another player offer you in exchange for a complete, pristine kit, that would be considered a fair trade? Unless you can answer that, I must assume you are looking to make money. If so, INB4 locked and maybe banned... Further, if you are offering to use another player for them (access to their online account), to log in AS them, and play AS them, in order to get them a kit, then there IS no trade of any sort happening in game. At that point, my assumption is that you are trading for MONEY. Why would you do it for free? And even if you were, I am pretty sure that using another players account in this matter violates some rule or another. Agreed. If this turns into World of Warcraft, I'm out. Well "paid" is a strong term. This isn't a business, nor is it a scam. All I'm trying to do is make sure this game can be enjoyed equally to all players of skill and size. What if they were to just play the game? The type of "service" you're offering is detrimental to the game. What is a new player going to offer you besides monetary reimbursement or sexual favors? Exactly. We should play sometime. I would REALLY love to run into you too darling. I'm sitting at 400 hours of playing this game Counter-Strike style. Let's see what happens. <

If so, INB4 locked and maybe banned... See, now therein lies the issue. You're assuming I want cash. The key word here is "assuming". Sure, if you take my post under the microscope, I may have left out a couple of details about the trade. Who the hell knows? What if I am trying to support this game by offering a raffle of full gear? Is it so terrible to guarantee a person full gear without anything in return? Am I a monster because you are under the assumption that I am advertising for money?

Maybe in the future but as of now, it's a free-for-all loot grab. Concern yourself with the masses that don't have 400 hours in DayZ, but also want to be able to do things you do with that experience. You sir, are being near-sighted, and slightly green.
ramsfan00 90 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Don't listen to these Dayz elitist Kalibyr. There are plenty of players who hate having to gear up and would pay someone a small "fee" to collect gear for them. Just because some people like to take the time to gear up doesn't mean everyone does. Edited February 20, 2014 by ramsfan00
Monkfish (DayZ) 339 Posted February 20, 2014 Am I a monster because you are under the assumption that I am advertising for money? To be fair, your first post is a little bit vague in regards of what's in it for you and asking someone to send you an E-mail to "talk shop" does give the impression that you're asking for something, possibly money, in return. And why E-mail, why not just use the forum PM system? You shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but when the cover strongly suggests "Want gear? Gief mounies" then a lot are going to make the assumption that you're out to make money from other players. In short, be clear in your intentions and then no-one but the hardest of cynics will question them. Be vague and everyone will raise an eyebrow.

I will not in under any circumstance acquire account information nor have I ever mentioned this. Sir, please understand that if you are not comfortable with a concept like this please do not fabricate what I might do or any rules that I might break. Granted, but the fact that they are so adamant that people should have to gear up the "right" way, because it's the "core" of the game, the "only thing" the game has to offer is just so ridiculous and silly. It's mentalities like those that create such a corrosive environment that leads to niche indie games to ultimately fail. GIVE PLAYERS THE RIGHT TO BE GEARED! I stand by this. You sir, are a master at surviving DayZ. You are the best scavenger and looter in this game. 20 minutes is a fantastic loot time. You have my highest regards. I'm so glad that you are so good at this game. I am overjoyed at the fact that you can acquire such pristine gear at such a short amount of time. Really?
