Game lacks support for AMD Cpu's & Amd Crossfire systems

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure it's a modified RV 2 engine which they call 2.5, not the RV 3.  I'll look for the link if you really want it.

I am pretty sure it is a modified RV3 engine which is the engine that both arma 2 and TOH where made on ( slightly different versions) arma 3 runs on RV4 arma 1 was on RV2 with OFP being on RV1.

I have heard people call it RV2.5 from the idea that arma2 =RV2 where its actually RV3

Ok so an RV 3.5.  Either way it's not the actual RV 2 or 3 engine.

RV Engine like fast CPU with 4 physical cores.

Trawl through the various performance threads and you'll often see i7s performing worse than i5s at the same clock speed.

The development has been focused on altering the engine to suit the game's needs,

The game missed its original 2012 release date, with a development update coming in January 2013 saying that the game was not yet released because the developers "had the chance to go from making a game that was just the mod improved slightly... to actually redeveloping the engine and making the game the way we all dreamed it could be.

well i have crossfire, and it runs FINE.

AMD is slacking, as in they have not made a pre-defined profile for dayz yet, however.. if you select the Arma2AO profile for dayz, crossfire runs like a boss.

ohh and the arma2AO profile thing, i managed to find that on google, with a quick search.

CF/SLI profiles however, that responsibility lies with AMD/Nvidia, since they put profiles for the game in their drivers.

Didint affect mutch almost same performance as forcing it to AFR Friendly.

Lets see how things get better in future. In Arma2 engine was pretty horrible to the end.

This alpha reminders should get warnings i would not or i bet anyone else in the forum want to see them on their threads spamming and causing flame.

Time to get back to DayZ

Based on my exp it doesn't care if its an AMD or intel CPU either, my 4.2 ghz AMD quad core is doing better than my buddies i7, not much better but still better.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *Catches breath* HAHAHAHAHA what did you use a $20 motherboard or something? really man AMD even with stock heatsink/fan plays games perfectly my AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black plays all games perfectly as well as my A8 5600k x4

unless the amd's you bought were like 1.3Ghz any AMD 2.4Ghz up and x64 is perfectly fine in fact when 64bit computing came in to the race is was AMD that was on top and intel to try and compete lied and used fake 64bit CPU's and they were utter garbage. it's only thanks to AMD the 64Bit computer hit mainstream and no thanks what so ever to the fake 64bit and fake multi core intels since AMD was the first to introduce BOTH not emulated.

I mean my AthlonXP 1.3 Ghz sucked it ran to hot and was slow (1.3Ghz) but when i got my AthlonXP 2.5Ghz I was blazing threw windows. and then when I got my Athlon 64 3600 (2.4Ghz 64bit) and my Athlon 64 x2 3800 things just skyrocketed from that double the performance... it took intel YEARS to catch up so don't go saying "intel is better for gaming" the CPU is onl half the equation when it comes to gaming and then that's only if the games properly coded and optimized. poor code  bad optimization will make anygame bad on system. as well as if a games more catered to Nvidia or ATI (AMD) will also make a difference.

I quit using Intel since the p4 they were garbage and never regretted nor looked back.

While this guy is terribly aggravating within every thread he posts, he's actually correct in this case. SLI/CF support is generally one of the last things to be added to a game. The Real Virtuality 3 engine is pretty terrible from the ground up, but for some reason Rocket swears by it. You know it's terrible/terribly optimized when you can run current generation games at maximum settings and still achieve 60+ frames per second, but fire up an ArmA title and you're running at normal or lower settings just to squeeze out a few more frames.

I probably come across that way because half the threads on the forum incredibly aggravate me. about 45% are bitch threads telling the devs how to do their jobs, 45% are threads about known bugs, 5% would have been good threads but get derailed by people from the other 90%, than somehow one or two squeak through and you can actually have a discussion.

For example, the op could have said, "I searched around the optimization threads looking to help me run this better, but I wasnt able to gain enough fps. I know that the game isnt optimized, but do any other amd users have suggestions on how I can increase my fps?" He should have also posted in tech support. Instead he comes in here bitching, foaming at the mouth, clearly not comprehending what an ALPHA is, and wastes forum space.

Thats what I have a problem with. Its the TELLING, I am more than willing to help people, but I dont like when the ignorant masses demand something from the developers, because they clearly didnt read and comprehend the 3-4 giant disclaimers they had to click through to buy the game, and the one they click before they play EVERY TIME. He struk out by just posting this thread in the way he posted it.

Yes this the case since the Amd FX series has been in lot of ways dissapointing in Single Core Performance.

First time i got AMD was the Duron but right now AMD is slowly losing the game.

Only time i have used Intel was at 80286 & 486 / DX2 / DX5 & P3.

The hard fact is that AMD is not doing well their new FX series since they already acknowledged that Am3+ is end of its line after fx-9590.

And the new FM2+ Steamroller "kaveri" is not intrested enthusiastic users since AMD said there will be no Steamroller FX coming.

Next system could be Intel but for me but only after DDR4 is released maybe in 2015-2016.

If the program is not utilize the FX 8 Cores well, then people get mutch lower performance on FX anyway.

My fps is on 20-60fps so DayZ more than playable but since we can compare to intels performance they have big diffrence sadly.

By greatly overclocking FX will give more Fps to the game but since the FX-8150 is very power hungry and using two GPU my PSU is not for this.

Also the electrical bill is also to consider.

My simple AMD 7970 seems to work well enough- haven't had any issues no matter day/night.
