There are few things sweeter than reading "XXX is losing connection" in the middle of a firefight, then run around the corner/up the stairs/behind the trees and watch you cowards sit on the ground, waiting for an axe to the forehead.

 

Bonus points for coming to the forums to whine about how your char got wiped yet again in this stupid game.

They messed up the anti combat log, it shouldn't even let you log while around players/zombies, being shot at, the mod did this so well but alas the SA we get an annoying timer every time we need to leave a server due to unbearable lag, or mis-clicking a server your friends were not on. Honestly that server hopping timer is BS, it shouldn't count if you are logging back into the same server AT LEAST.

Some guys were in Elektro on the little tower roof of the hospital, shooting anyone who tried to go to the firehouses or the school. I was waaaaay over in a mountain, a good 785 meters away with my Mosin and an LRS. I popped one guy and he dropped. His friend then tried to find me but couldn't without exposing himself too much. I kept juuuuuuust missing him as my shots were pulling slightly to the left and up. I guess he got really scared and decided to try and log behind the little radiator units. I saw the tip top of his hat as he sat down, and on my 3rd shot, I scored a headshot knocking him down.

 

So he lost his character. F that guy, and all combat loggers.

I'm not talking about the timer when leaving and joining a server.

 

I'm talking about the mechanic where if someone disconnects from a server his char sits down and stays in the world for another 20-30 seconds. No problem if you log out in a "safe" area.

 

Hilarious if you're a combat logger that uses server disconnects to flee from fights.

 

I love this feature!

You don't smell the potential for abuse there? A group of bandits handcuff you, toss a burlap sack over your head and proceed to beat you within an inch of your life but don't knock you out or kill you. This carries on for hours - at first it was a thrilling experience, now you're just bored and want to play, but you can't respawn because you're not dead and you can't log out because you're in combat or the vicinity of another player. Alt+F4 your way back to the game.

 

As much as I hate combat logging nothing will ever stop someone from hitting Alt+F4 and just saying fuck it. Besides, who cares if they combat log since they sit there for 30seconds like an asshat begging to be killed (and often are) as they are defenseless. I say let them keep combat logging thinking its going to save them - it just makes it so more of the gear I take in 10-15seconds I have to loot the body is in better condition anyway since I drop a 762 in their grape at point blank range. I have only failed at killing two combat loggers out of the forty or so that I've met, keep the system in place and let them think they're safe. Makes me smile just knowing I sent them back to the coast where some other more desperate bandits are picking on bambis.

You chase someone into a building and he has the 2nd floor, you can't take him on without great risk since he has an advantage. You try to play cat and mouse, eventually holding your breath as you push forward and discover..... he logged. You do a quick sweep, of the floor to make sure hes not anywhere else, he logs back in with no penalty and double-bucks you in the back of the head. For every few minutes you are inconvenienced by this feature, several people are being saved from the combat logging/ghosting issue that was rampant just a month or so ago.

The age/maturity of the player performing a combat log is completely irrelevant. A player picks a fight and starts to lose so in a panic they run away and combat log. Are you suggesting we just let that player go because "hey its probably just some clueless kid". Don't come here looking to start a war, your response and poor grammar makes you seem like you are one of these "retard 12yo charwipe bug crybaby CLUELESS kids" you are referring to and that alone gives more than enough ammunition for the napalm cannon you're provoking.

Combat loggers are foolish. But, killing from 500+ meters away really isn't hard or require much skill. You're basically taking pot shots at people who have no idea you're even there. Miss all your shots and you're mostly still safe.

I am not sure if this is bugged, but today, I headshot a guy, he drops. I know he has a balistic helm, so Im waiting on him to wake up, and he does, and immediatly sits down. I put 4 more bullets in him, to the point where he looks like a bloody fountain, and he just dissapears..

Bambis don't combat log in the airfields, If you let a combat logger live after he started a fight because "oh hes logging out better not kill him" and that makes you feel self-righteous go ahead, I'm going to put a bullet in his head.

I never have a problem with combat loggers, but if I lose sight of an enemy, I disengage and go on with my day, instead of going on a relentless crusade to kill, kill, KILL!

 

So, if someone logs on me, I never really know it. I just assume they've escaped. If I have someone "trapped" on a second floor, I slip away. Why the hell would I follow them up if they have a gun? As a "survival" scenario, that's just dumb.

 

So, basically, my point is that "combat-logging" as a problem is proportionate to your level of bloodthirst and aggression, which makes it hard for me to care or see it as a problem for the community as a whole.
