It was pissing down rain making the essential game sounds like footsteps inaudible. There were only seven people on the server and we both turned the same corner at opposite sides and came face to face. In a split second you put me down with a double tap from a sawed off.

 

As soon as I went black I heard your comm

 

"OMG shit dude I'm so freaking sorry, you just scared the shit out of me"

 

I laughed, and loved it - DayZ is total paranoia

 

No hard feelings man - best wishes and keep staying on the edge of your seat, its what makes the game great :D

 

 

 

PS - If you looted my corpse read the note I wrote - It will give you a laugh

 

PPS - Please don't flame KOS/Bandits here - take that crap elsewhere. This thread was admiring that one KOS that got me and shit his pants at the same time.

Can't hold a grudge there. Panic KoS is entirely different to pre-meditated murder. 

I got popped last night by someone who'd obviously been watching me for quite a long time. I never even saw him. Good on him for making the kill, but if he had of interacted with me he'd have seen I was no threat (I assume he only cares about sniping in this game though, by the way he shot me).

Nothing to whine about, it was great laughs to know that I went down because I spooked the shit out of someone just by being at the right/wrong place at the right/wrong time :D

 

The game is an absolute roller coaster of emotions - If the final product evokes even 20% of this I'll be ecstatic.

The only time I KOSed was a panic kill. I was at the NW airfield looking in the jail, and a dude ran around the corner with an axe. Scared the shit out of me.

Same with me. I ran out of food somewhere way out in the wilderness and just logged on so I didn't have my bearings. A little village I went through had no loot so I found a military base and saw nobody around so I went in and grabbed some stuff.

As I was leaving I had an M4 at the ready because I was being paranoid. Came down the steps and saw a glimmer of camo on my right. Turned in a panic and heard a shot. I emptied my magazine into his torso and went unconcious.

He asked if I was alive. I said no, just unconcious. He said he was too and was a nice guy but wanted my stuff. Read: Bastard. Then he asked me to stay logged on because his buddy was coming and would revive us both and maybe let me live. Nice offer. But I figured I'd let it play out.

Around 10 minutes later I hear footsteps and some mountain troll says "whatchu fucking queers doin' on the ground?" At that moment I knew the friend was a douche and I wouldn't be revived. So I logged off post-haste because fuck those guys. This was right after the combat logging deterrents went in and bodies were disappearing after 30 seconds. I hope to hell they didn't get my gear. They didn't earn it.

Perhaps a stupid question, but when unconscious other players can still year you and see your texts, right?

 

Someone knocked me down yesterday on the NEAF after I killed his bandit buddy. I was only unconscious and it did not seem I'd be getting up any time sooner. So I was shouting and writing to them to "ffs guys, at least confirm the kill, plant one on my brain, I'd probably get right back up and off you :P" (has happened before). But they just looted me and left. After about two minutes I respawned out of boredom.

 

In general, at first I was always pissed of when KoS'ed. I ranted on the microphone like a ten year old. Now I just play along, you know, "good kill", "enjoy the gear, hope you ruined it all" etc :D No hard feelings to anyone!

Pretty sure you can still talk after death. Definitely after KO.
