Demoth 366 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) No one can stop hacking in any game. Period. That'd be like saying you could write an uncrackable program. Mitigation is the only thing you can do. Hell no. Played BF4 recently? If it's beyond ridiculous how come there's plenty of people that haven't seen hacks, myself included? The OP even says he's got 300 hours up and only seen one or two... Hardly ridiculous. Being cheated in other shooters is annoying, there is no doubt about it. The problem with being cheated in DayZ is that you lose everything when someone decides to turn on ESP and get a giant yellow square around your character and then shoot you through stuff. People invest hours in gearing up, having adventures and tweaking their outfits and loadouts to what they like. I, personally, try to make my guy (well, gal) look pretty badass without resorting to all just TTsKO stuff. I usually try to rock grey tactical cargo pants and shirt with black baseball cap, black gloves and black assault vest. Getting very specific is really troublesome. Just now, I got sniped in the face after having sniped another dude in the face who had just sniped my friend in the back. (Snipers sniping snipers who snipe!) All of the kills were legit, except I should have killed the guy who killed me. I was standing, leaning over the side of a tree and shot him right in the face.... except I hit some invisible barrier because when I shot, I saw bits of rock and dirt kick up in the air right in front of me, and a second later the guy shot and killed me. While terrain glitches, which have been reported to hell and back, exist and are agitating, I can accept that these are things that need to be ironed out in time. It's also no one's fault. But people running paid-for scripts? That's a real big "Fuck you" when it happens, because someone went above and beyond seeking means to completely negate all of what you achieved. And unlike other shooters, you can't just give them the finger and jump servers and have all of your gear. You have to start with nothing. It's like dying in Diablo II hardmod because someone uses an exploit to kill your character when they're not supposed to be able to. Everything you worked for suddenly goes up in a puff of smoke and there was NOTHING you could have done about it. (makes you question every gameplay video someone makes if caught on one, unsubbed.)All these pussies should be burnt. Im lucky that havent encountered any hackers ingame yet.And I wellcome all hackers now at alpha stage so they get dealth with before release. Also hacking in SA is pretty minor compared to the MOD, in the scale of it and what hackers can do... much more tied hands for them. gibonez 3633 Posted February 18, 2014 because frankie, even if he may be a hacker, helps support the community, at least. He is the reason a lot of people bought this game Not good enough. All hacking should be punished and he should be no exception although I am sure he has been caught multiple times and has had to buy new copies. Either way Dayz players should stop giving that cheater revenue and stop watching his videos.
Daemonkid 493 Posted February 18, 2014 Don't worry about it to much. If they hack, you can rest easy knowing they did it because their life sucks so they use what little power they can get over the interwebz to ruin other peoples day.
Daemonkid 493 Posted February 18, 2014 Frankie is not a hacker....Just saw this. And yes, Frankie is indeed a hacker. If you believe otherwise, you're a fuckin' tool.
gibonez 3633 Posted February 18, 2014 We need anti hack tools that somehow detect the hackers pc and stop them from ever purchasing a new copy or ever using the same steam id again. Thus they lose their entire steam library.

Guest Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) ... I have seen less hacking during the early days of Counter Strike. Seriously, this is beyond fucking ridiculous. If Rocket has any pride or concern for his creation, he would focus on this issue right now.haha...TROLLOP?hackin in the way we know it nowadays was invented in the early time of CS. Today every roach can get hacks in less then 5 minutes. Edited February 18, 2014 by Guest
Demoth 366 Posted February 18, 2014 haha...TROLLOP?hackin in the way we know it nowadays was invented in the early time of CS. Today every roach can get hacks in less then 5 minutes.I thought people had to pay for hacks and then pay for them again when they got updated to circumvent anti-cheat programs (and also a new serial key to the game). If I'm right, I don't know who would be spending money like that hand over fist for a non-competitive scene game. Not that I advocate running any cheats, simply because the only reason you would do it is to be a malicious prick.
Rauchsauger 94 Posted February 18, 2014 No ESP hack at all.Just modifed game files: There is even a bug report detailing how this works... (everybody please try it - hopefully you'll get banned in the process when they fix it :) ) After you fall victim to them, it makes you quite paranoid that everyone who out flanks you is using them. The death I just experienced was pretty suspect, as I was hiding behind a big treem I was in 3rd person and suddenly someone shoots through a bush and hits the tree exactly where my head was. I panicked and ran down the hill and hid behind a bush. Again, in 3rd person. He pops over the hill with a Mosin and then BAM, shoots through the bush and headshots me. I'm unconcious and then shoots again and I die. Please, put my mind at ease. What other explanation could there be?

Kaw 23 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) I been lucky enough not to see any hacks yet(100hrs+), but the future of SA does concern me. In the mod it started off slowly, then bloomed to the point where you couldn't have a 2hr session and not see one. I believe it was when the skies were taken over by AH-64 Apaches that I lost hope, lolThis silly hacker couldn't fly, lol. Mopa 44 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Everyone hates hackers yet they support frankie. Frankie is good at the game = hacker. Stupid logic. I have seen all the "proof" videos of him hacking and not a single video has a shred of proof. Just because he can do things you cant like aim, have good situational awareness etc does not mean he is a hacker.. Meh Edited February 18, 2014 by Mopa

I remember a situation I got into where I was a sniper/spotter on the west side of a town and we had two guys in the town and another sniper/spotter on the east side. So two guys pass right behind the east sniper and I spot them, I take shots and pin them down, they were both hiding behind trees not moving. I tell the east sniper whats going on and he sneaks up behind them and pops them both in the head under the cover of my shots... they never knew he was there, from their perspective I was hacking and shooting them through the trees. How do I know they didn't know he was there? because the second guy didn't move an inch when his friend got shot, even though the east sniper was less than 10m behind him standing out in the open with a clear shot for over a minute whilst i was talking him round to the guy's position. Edit: moral for the story: sometimes "ESP" is just you've been outflanked and never even knew it. Then of course sometimes its hacks, but I have some faith that dean et al are keeping on top of that, its certainly a lot less of an up hill struggle now they have the new server architecture, and once they turn off scripts completely we should see a big drop in hack, most are script injection at the moment.
