brampower 19 Posted February 16, 2014 So me and my friend heard a bunch of shots and decided to go check it out. He went to the roof of the school, I was chasing the guy that was shooting. I ended up chasing him into the school, when this happened... I know it's not the most entertaining video (if at all), but I just wanted to show people that there are geared players who are willing to help, EVEN if we already shot you in the leg (when my friend told him not to move he pulled his gun out). I've seen many players on the forums/reddit lose confidence in other players, and that's why I am posting this video. Stay healthy, guys!

brampower 19 Posted February 16, 2014 If you shoot someone in the leg, I doubt they would stay friendly. We shot him in the leg AFTER he pulled his gun out on us while we specifically told him not to move.
Spiderdude20 32 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) You took his food and water, ammo, and just about everything else he needed, but at least you set him free in a town you most likely looted already. Good job, you have my beans. Edited February 16, 2014 by Spiderdude20
Slyguy65 499 Posted February 16, 2014 If you shoot someone in the leg, I doubt they would stay friendly.thats the new thing BTW People just run around crippling people so they can't respawn or die...yep it shows this game is nothing more than a griefers paradise TBH
brampower 19 Posted February 16, 2014 Why don't you just kill him? You took his food, water, and ammo. Might as well finish the job and kill him, he's gonna die from another player anyways. We let him go in Berezino; I'm sure he will be able to find food and ammo. There is a water fountain right down the road. I let him keep his cantine.

Nicko2580 398 Posted February 16, 2014 The guy pulled his gun when told not to. He's lucky he's not dead. No one HAD to be nice to him. No one had to patch him up and send him on his way. Would have been far easier and quicker and less risky to just put a bullet in his head and take his stuff.I say good on you for not just capping him on the spot. This type of interaction is the best part of DayZ.

It's a video to show people that not EVERY guy with an M4 and military outfit will kill you on the spot or leave you to rot with a broken leg. blackberrygoo 1416 Posted February 16, 2014 Let all the ignorant people talk guys , fact of the matter is you took the BEST route of dealing with that guy , at least the most fun and productive way. People that say " oh kill him he would have died any way" I just don't get at all , this is a SURVIVAL game they intend to do just that , so id give all my loot for a chance to be spared in a situation like this , and he even let the guy keep his Gun , which is IMO harder to find than ammo .And the people that aren't grateful for being spared are the exact same ones running around KOSing with no reason or style whatso ever , they believe it's impossible to do what you guys just did, but it's all about communication , sleight of Hand , and controlling the situation . I suggest for those that dont ever spare people (or for those who don't communicate to strangers before shooting ) to go into a largely populated server with an empty gun and instead of shooting on sight , convincing the person to do what you want at gun point . Further more you have no bullets so this really practices not just killing every one you see like in the video . Ask the person you are holding up for the shit you need , keep it on a human level and you can both walk away alive. If they come back for revenge that's just another instance to have fun so I don't ever see that as a good excuse to kill someone after you already have the upper hand (if you are always prepared you can 90% of the time handle what comes at you ) (the other 10%=suck it up ). In my opinion (and I'm sure plenty others ) creating a working environment for the game is the biggest issue , and to seperate this game from the mod it needs more than just graphics and force feeding , it needs promise of rebuilding as if it would be like in real life . You gotta trust a lot of people to rebuild civilization after a zombie apocalypse so lets lessen unrealistic extermination of each other and increase interesting encounters that ultimately play into a more plausible apocalypse , yes we know the apocalypse would be chaotic but even bandits know dead people can't make babies :/.

This. Exactly this. I could not agree more, sooner or later people will find out (I hope). The KoS mentality is one that I can have fun with as well, because it always feel good to kill people that tried to kill you seconds before. But I would love to get held up more often in this game, get robbed/exchange loot and both walk away. This game is not about loot, it's about surviving. And we helped that guy survive; we let him go and he was in the middle of Berezino, a town where there is always loot to be found. We spared his life; it would have been easier, less time consuming to just kill him right there on the spot (or even worse, leave him there unconscious with a broken leg) but we didn't. We wanted to see him walk out of there and be able to continue with his quest, and it gave us a good 5 minutes of fun. It's what the game is about, people! willhelm 85 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Tbh I hate it when I'm in the middle of a military compound and I see someone, when I try to talk to them and they sound like a four year old on cocaine. I just can't stand the fact that the standalone got the cod kids' attention Edit: you guys are fine I wasn't talking about you Edited February 16, 2014 by NevadaDG
