will there be creepier zombies later on?

does anyone know if we will get more varied stages of zombies like "freshly dead and pale" all the way to "gaunt and decayed and slow moving"?

 

wasnt sure if the current zombies are placeholders or if they will all be fast movers.

I believe the current theory is Infected, Not undead, So I highly doubt the decaying ones.

damn...i was hoping for some classic Romero style zombies and "walking dead" types

 

when you see a zombie way off in the distance before they see you, they are doing the classic "zombie walk" which makes me think they are dead and not just infected people.

Well, we do have some walking infected. I saw one today on the NWAF following me. That, and some zombies wanted aimlessly just like the one I found on one of the castles. It stopped to run at me, but fell to its death on a small cliff drop. This is pretty much giving me the idea of how little HP they have.

I want to see some crawlers with no lower torso. 

they're already not enough of a threat with legs, that would just be a waste of a zombie.

Good point, but imagine playing at night and literally stumbling upon one, just to look down and see a bloody mess of arms and teeth grabbing at you from below, could be sorta scary and pretty atmospheric.

provided it's dark enough, with the current gamma "trick", grayscale daylight is your best friend. >.>

Rockets said the current zombies are placeholders, they have new one models coming. I hope they bring back the different types from the mod, mixes it up a little.

yeah, i want to see some bloody ones coming at us.  imagine searching a building at night and turn the corner only to see a rotten face with blood around the mouth starin' at you!

also another thought on zombies...i think they would be a much bigger threat if you had to shoot them in the head or beat them over the head.

Yeah, you should be forced to shoot in the head or bash their skull in with a melee weapon in order for them to die completely.

As someone else stated:

 

The current idea is about the people being infected (like in 28 Days later), not being dead and revived.

So you basically shoot normal people. Normal people die of any gun shot wound to most organs, not only the brain.

 

Even if they were zombies like in "The Walking Dead", the need to shoot them in the head doesn't make much sense either, by their own definition.

 

But maybe they change the "story" behind DayZ and make them Zombies in the classic definition. But then I hope for improvements in melee combat, especially hitting where your crosshair is...

They aren't. DayZ: Origins makes it so body shots do very little damage and headshots do enough to drop them in 1 or 2 shots. So in Origins we just snipe all the zombies from a good location and then move in. 

These are infected, not dead bodies. Zombies being dead is a nonsensical thing. "Real" zombies from Vodoo were not dead. The most likely realistic "Zombie" apocalypse is Viral in nature and gives infected people zombie like reactions and qualities.

I dont mind the looks or their actions that much, but Id like to see them hiding in places and such more often. I occasionally come across one in a warehouse, but I always figured they had just chased someone there and didnt actually spawn there.

Hiding zeds is a good idea IMHO even though they are infected they go into a dormant like state with no one around if they added dead bodies as part of the zed apoc ( where did everyone go they certainly didnt all change into zeds) you could get zeds that lay dormant till your near then lunge that might get a few scares..( as in laying among the dead bodies which are just scenery..)
