CTaPuK_OTmOpO3Ok666 14 Posted February 12, 2014 Hey guys imagine radiation place - have to wear gas masks, etc. Will have to take anti-radiation drugs that would stay longer in the contaminated areas or not to accept them and ill with radiation. We will have to take a lot of disinfecting anatomist, smeared vodka, drink vodka(a good way to not be emanated radiation), I think it is a great idea.А also add a device for measuring radiation(Geiger)
jaginun 87 Posted February 12, 2014 Firstly, try to actually include some information in your post. There haven't been any nuclear attacks to our knowledge, so no.
CTaPuK_OTmOpO3Ok666 14 Posted February 12, 2014 And who said that there was nuclear attacks?
Max Planck 7174 Posted February 12, 2014 And who said that there was nuclear attacks? Well, where would the radiation come from? There are no nuclear plants either.
DerDuderich 149 Posted February 12, 2014 There haven't been any nuclear attacks to our knowledge, so no. But there could have been a nuclear powerplant that broke down when the crew died. I think it could make a nice end game challenge, to find gear that makes it possible to loot the remains. Yet somehow stealing the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. scenario...? CTaPuK_OTmOpO3Ok666 14 Posted February 12, 2014 Army could have bombed area to destroy the zombies .....
Sonic-NKT 38 Posted February 12, 2014 well i dont know if radiation is the right thing but i like the idea of contaminated zone and its only possible to enter those with special gear (gasmask, gloves, special jacket), well you could try it without but with a high risk of becoming ill/infected and so on... Death_Dealer 3155 Posted February 12, 2014 Army could have bombed area to destroy the zombies ..... If that was the case, then pretty much the entire map would be obliterated and drenched with lethal radiation levels
akafugitive 244 Posted February 12, 2014 I've made a suggestion like this.http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/171213-gameplay-mechanics-pt3-environment/At the bottom of the main post
ImmunePower 26 Posted February 12, 2014 I think the same too..
basinox 300 Posted February 12, 2014 This is a horrible idea, especially if you look at the nature of chernorus. Way to green for recent radiation.

Why would you want to loot the remains of a broken nuclear power plant? What could you possibly find that'd be useful?

AP_Norris 1018 Posted February 13, 2014 If that was the case, then pretty much the entire map would be obliterated and drenched with lethal radiation levelsThere could be damaged nuclear weapons left there from a failed last ditch attempted to contain the virus. When the bases were finally overrun, there were nobody left alive to complete the operation.Only specialised smaller nuclear warheads brought from Russia/ US to be transported into key areas to be detonated are left. They are older nukes and use more primitive radioactive materials, like plutonium 238 with a relatively short half life, spitting out alpha particles which can be breathed in, but do not penetrate skin, meaning a gas mask is an effective blocker.Remaining zombies in the area should all have gas masks on.The containers containing the decaying plutonium 238 should be placed downwind so the alpha particles can be carried across the hot loot spots.Alpha particles are very internally damaging and I would like some harshly realistic effects for decent exposure. As far as I know, Pu 238 is used as an energy/fuel source, namely on things like space probes Even the atomic bombs dropped on Nagasaki/Hiroshima in WW2 used Pu 239 Edited February 13, 2014 by Death Dealer

rickenbacker 190 Posted February 13, 2014 Alpha particles are very internally damaging and I would like some harshly realistic effects for decent exposure. If you breathe them, yes. But if we're talking realistic effects, radiation would cause the zombies to literally fall apart in a week or so, as their cells broke down.
