- Karma - 75 Posted February 9, 2014 Wow. Yes to this, if it can be done. The only problem with it would be, what other things will reflect? Could you screw with someone by leaving a mirror or the like in a known sniper spot? That would be kind of amazing too.
MrAkenatom 16 Posted February 9, 2014 Like bf3 8x and 12x scopes, nice idea
akafugitive 244 Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) No not like bf 3 please, scopes are not flashlights in the dark. I'd say more like how the game currently reflects light on white and metallic textures Edited February 9, 2014 by akafugitive
DMentMan 707 Posted February 9, 2014 does it really?

Corto 34 Posted February 9, 2014 This is a must. Right now snipers placed on rooftops at 600 or 800 meters from popular places are not only a pain in the ass, it's overly unfair for the victims. One of my best friends does this and he's exceptionally well at shooting (both in games and in real life). I usually express my disapproval of such way of playing the game, but right now there's so little to do that I kind of understand why would people do that for fun. If the price for sniping is running the risk of being ambushed by a party I say it's only fair to implement reflections on scopes. My vote is positive. stielhandgranate 480 Posted February 9, 2014 Real optics are coated to prevent this or have ARDs. We really shouldn't take notes from causal FPS games.
Corto 34 Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) Good point. Then make those coated lens scopes an ultra rare item. I don't think we would be able to find state of the art military equipment on a post apocalyptic world being civilians as we are. Unless every scope nowadays have that treatment as if every amateur shooter was a trained killer. In that case I can go f myself and you can ignore this post =). Still, this is a gameplay issue, not a realism issue. Edited February 9, 2014 by Corto
stielhandgranate 480 Posted February 9, 2014 Coated lens are standard, keep in mind a scope lens is a very small item to catch a reflection on as well. There are better ways to fix sniper fests such as adding ACE style mechanics in game.
Corto 34 Posted February 10, 2014 Cool then. Although I'm going to have to search for ACE style in Google now =).

MrBecause 11 Posted February 10, 2014 Try this: This. No unrealistic super-reflective lenses, but instead more complex and realistic sniper mechanics. A long distance shot should have to be carefully planned and executed (even more so, if the target is moving) . Have my beans.
