288 secs. until respawn ? QUESTION

hi guys,

i changed the server a couple of times, and now i have to wait 288 seconds...

has it something to do with the server settings or is this against server hopping or something else ?

whats a good server in your mind..? not so many people, time of day, regular or hardcore, low ping? because all the info is available before selecting a server. sounds to me like you were looking for a server that wasnt looted already.. which is server hoping.. if you spawn into an area and its been looted .. prolly means you should move to another part of the map not switch servers... aka server hopping

but this also can affect legitimate players, i went on a server and it reset just after i joined i then had to wait the 300 seconds to join another server or even the same one

pretty sure thats never happened to me .. i could be wrong but every time a server restarted i was able to rejoin another without the penalty... i could be wrong once again

em this is not true, if server restarts because it need to be you can rejoin automaticly when server is ON again without any waiting

Wasn't it 30 at start then gradually growing to 300 seconds? I got kicked out because BattleEye updated and restarted and I had to wait 300 seconds straight up . . . Not such a big deal, even 5 minutes, but still.

Its to prevent against server hopping and combat logging... You can join up to 2 servers without any delay and not staying in for the full 30 minutes.  After the second server the timeout rules apply to all. no matter if the server is empty and you just want to go to a more populate server... REMEMBER !!! LOG OUT IN SAFE AREAS NOW !!!

The developers want you to spend more time with loved ones so they allotted 288 seconds for you to do so.

Once you join a server your timer begins, when you play on the server for at least 5 minutes the next time you attempt to join a server you will only have a 15-30 second respawn so everyone dosent spawn at once.

I don't mind this rule. I'm all for it. 

 

That said, it bugs me that you get punished for being kicked off a server. Joined 2 servers > kicked twice in a row. No biggie, but rather irritating having to wait because of power hungry admins >_<
