overdosed (DayZ) 77 Posted February 6, 2014 Just some interesting weapons that id love to see in Dayz. Tokarev TT 33 Stechkin Kiparis PP-2000 SR-3 Vikhr And finally the TKB - 011 The last rifle has actually never left the development stage to my knowledge, but damn it looks cool. I wouldnt at all mind if its a super rare spawn. It uses the 7.62x39mm round.
Korsbaek 1778 Posted February 6, 2014 All of these except for the last rifle have been suggested before. The last rifle is pretty awesome though :D

Dchil 829 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) DayZ definitely needs more Tokarev, that's for sure. And Nagant Revolver. I wonder if i make a good enough model (which will be my first if i ever decide to do it) for it if they will accept it and use it. the map is in russia. It's a joke (i hope) Edited February 6, 2014 by Dchil
stielhandgranate 480 Posted February 6, 2014 the map is in russia. I guess no one ever bothers to research the lore these days.
overdosed (DayZ) 77 Posted February 6, 2014 A better look at the tkb-011 http://25.media.tumblr.com/f4e89601b1ba35c6ca0badc2eda10aef/tumblr_mrgok1gF7g1ry5dwqo5_r1_1280.jpg
thedogfoodyayho 295 Posted February 6, 2014 The first two are a given, but the next 3 are only used by the Russian military (Research the lore. This area hasn't been part of Russia since 1991) and the last one is Fucking awsome but since only like 10 exist, no.

overdosed (DayZ) 77 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) and the last one is Fucking awsome but since only like 10 exist, no. So what? Chernarus and Dayz in general are in now way a true representation of the world we live in, or even of an existing place. In the universe of Dayz maybe the gun went into production, saw some use and is now a collectors item that can be found around the world including in Chernarus. It can even be similar to the mosin and the sks - mass produced in many countries with surplus rifles flooding the market and used for recreational shooting due to reliability and dirt cheap ammunition. Lets not add more. And there has to be a reason it never reached production. What, you want it to be a magically awsome gun?

Also it didnt go into production because "Although these assault rifles performed well, they were turned down by the Soviet army for being too radical at that time." Same as many other weapons, tools, and whatever you can imagine. There have been many inventions that have been overlooked when first introduced and then adopted many years later. The bullpup design has become popular only in recent years. Edited February 6, 2014 by overdosed
thedogfoodyayho 295 Posted February 6, 2014 There are much better and more adaptable designs available today, though. The CDF could just convert AK-74s to bullpup. That gun looks like something out of Starwars. It doesn't look like you could customize it much. And on top of that, it would probably be to expensive for the CDF.Anyway, it won't get added. I can guarantee that.
Chaingunfighter 917 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Czech Republic...No, it's Chernarus, which is based off of the terrain of a part of the Czech Republic. The country is mainly based on the Czech republic in terms of culture, but there's also a lot of Soviet and Post-Soviet culture as well. In general, it takes a "Post-Soviet country influenced by modern Western technology". And there it is - the game is semi-realistic. It doesn't matter, the TKB-011 isn't at all realistic. The FNX-45 was used because most of the files used were part of ArmA 3's "4-five .45". The Colt Python was created by someone who does not (or did not) work at DayZ staff. Something like the Steyr AUG would be 1000x more realistic, and you would probably never see a Steyr AUG in Chernarus. And even though your statement about overlooked designs becoming popular is true, the TKB-011 has not become popular at all, it's a dead design, albeit a cool one. The design here is the bullpup design, not the tkb-011. Ofcourse it didnt become popular, by the time people started looking at the bullpup design again they just built new rifles, ofcourse they wont reuse a 40 year old rifle. But they used parts of the tkb-011 design. The FN 2000 for example uses the same cartridge ejection system. Edited February 6, 2014 by overdosed

I'm all for more guns, but I think the next weapon(s) they add will be the crossbow and/or bow and arrow.

- Karma - 75 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Again, Loot Table Dilution. Again, I don't think we need several guns that do the exact same thing but need different skins and animations that soaks up valuable Dev time. Maybe pick one of those, but it seems like the most realistic Russian/Soviet SMG's that could/should be in the game you missed - the PPSh and the Bizon. And honestly I don't even know if we need them. If we want to go the Czech route, we could say Skorpion. Again, do we need them? I'm all for the Tokarev, but then problems of more ammo types that only work for one gun crop up. When they inevitably add weapons using 9mm Para how choked will players get once they find the Tokarev, then the common 9mm Para but can't load it? No, they need to find the 9mm TT. And if we add some of the SMG's, we'd also have to add the 9mm Makarov rounds further confusing the issues. Just saying - most of those are cool weapons, but do we really need them? Want, sure. But need them? Edited February 7, 2014 by - Karma -
