YOU'RE ALL HELMETS!

 

 

No, not really. I'm just wondering how many of you actually wear these things. I've found a fair few lying around, but never bothered with them. I'd prefer not to look like a Chupa Chups whilst doing my Neo-dodgy-bullety-ness tricks. Anyone bother?

 

I'd imagine they must have some comedy value if you manage to subdue someone, great for marking a prisoner or whatever but voluntarily wearing one? Hell naw.

I'm not proud to say this, but I've been doing some experimenting on captives I've taken so far. Put a helmet on them, and shoot, hit, smash.

 

A ballistic helmet will sometimes actually "stop" a gunshot. Motorcycle helmets will help you survive an axe to the head.

 

That being said, I never wear anything other than green ballistic helmets or other camo headgear.

I don't really wear military gear. Much more likely to get shot if you're in full camo and a brain bucket :).

Yeah, I remember the first time me and a couple of mates was trying the defibs. I ended up using them on myself, one of my friends panicked and shot my other friend. The captive bambi ran off.

I wear a ballistic helmet for it's protection and green color. I heard they might be paintable in the future so here's hoping for a real camo pattern like in the TTSKO gear.

Yeah i like to play the mental and game look like a good guy, no military gear jeans, tee / flannel and my beloved black pristine beanie which i search for every game that every zombie ruins on me in a single hit; fuckers. Gearing down and looking less threatening while also behaving friendly makes it all the sweeter when i play it cool before i kill them after building their trust!

But beanie all the way for me black or green keep it's simple and keeps my ears warm, get outa here with noob military gear that'll get you KoS'd ery'tiiiime!

Confirmed: ballistic helmets in worn or better condition will absorb one bullet. Tested this theory with my son. Shot him in the head with an M4A1 from around 25 metres. His screen flashed gray and he heard a "tink", but didn't die or even bleed. His helmet was only badly damaged afterwards, from pristine.

I think they're ugly as hell, but after that experiment I'll be going back to wearing them. (:

Tonight I'm going to run the same test on the new pilot helmet.

^ I hate the mil look but if i find a good condition ballistic i wear it. Was a fan of the damaged looking bike helmet and gasmask..very steampunk stormtroopery :)

Other reason is there is still a severe lack of customer facial customisation and i hate continually running into myself.

growing beards will be very hard to implement but they could atleast give us some variety in heads they wouldnt take long to model shit i am willing to kill my 5 day old full geared character the moment some different faces appear.

 

As for the helmuts i use to wear them but they just so ugly lol so i stick to the new zealand green beret and just try avoid being shot or hit by zeds( doesnt always work but i am willing to bleed a little to look cool ( cool in my opinion that is lol )

I am getting tired of the military look, but I do think helmets serve a very important purpose. My character on the regular server is in a full hero outfit (green checkered shirt and baseball cap), but my main character on the hardcore server wears a black motorcycle helmet, because I don't want to get knocked out in a single punch by another player.

 

Someone did try to knockout my regular server character the other day while I was refilling my canteens at a fountain. Luckily I had headphones on so I could hear his steps as he was approaching, didn't prevent him from getting a hit on me before I could switch to my sawn off, but it was a body hit. After some chasing around, useless sawn off shots wasted at him, I did finally put him out of his misery with my axe. But it was pure luck that none of his punches hit me in the head, or I would have been done for. So I am not going to risk that with my hardcore character.

I started wearing motorcycle helmets because I realised zombies always aim at your head, if you're wearing protective headgear you can avoid having to bandage. I know some people will now want to remind me zombies aren't a threat and that I should be killing them easily without taking a hit, but we all get unlucky sometimes.

 

I usually put on the ballistic helmet if I find one in pristine condition, one saved me from a Mosin round just last night so I have a new-found respect for them.

Na I never use helmets. I usualy go for the black Zmijovka Cap because it looks very friendly, no matter if you wear green/ camo stuff or just civilian clothings.
