No Combat Log In Radius

Recommended Posts

Ok this idea is about combat logging because me and a friend today was playing and this guy fully armored just disconnected when we shot at him. So I feel that you should make it so you can't disconnect when there's someone in a 50 meter radius or some thing. It could give you a warning message saying "There's a guy in your radius, You may not disconnect". If this happened I feel everyone would agree with this so no idiots disconnect.

Thanks

- Pablo

And what if you had to disconnect perhaps because you needed the computer for something else?

You'd have to ctrl+alt+delete just to end the game.

Right now they are testing a logout timer on the experimental servers. When you disconnect, your character stays ingame for 30 seconds and places itself in a sitting position.

It's dayz... Don't play if you don't have time.

I can spend upwards of 12 hours straight on DayZ and ARMA. (Only beaten by my 48 hour record playing C&C)

Also, what if you're playing with a friend?

Then you'd have to run away from each other before disconnecting.

Unexpected things turn up, and sometimes disconnecting becomes necessary.

What if you're playing with a group? I don't want to have to kill someone else just to disconnect.

I think it's a really good idea actually!

If you have to go in a hurry, and it says

"there is someone in your area"

Then move to a different area.

The map is huge!

I honestly think this is a better solution.

This way if you log out, it tells you that someone is near you, so you don't just sit down for 30 sec and that person just finds you sitting there and shots you in the face.

Problem is this adds more load to the server and client. The current 30 sec log out timer being tested is a far lower cost and impact solution.

I would rather test that feature and fine turn the timer (maybe set it to 100 sec).

Alot of people complain zombies may get you etc. But if you move out of town and find a quiet spot, seems a more realistic approach.

I currently do that atm, so I don't spawn into a bunch of zombies or players.

A ten second timer on the disconnect button would be great also that 30 second standing still feature aswell. And crl alt delete should also be disabled in menu and in game.

I'd agree with the 30 second timer but not 'somebody is in your radius' timer... I've 2 young kids and sometimes need to log off in an hurry. I dont want to leave my char unattended unnecessarily.

If you're in a shoot out, bottle it and log off you could probably be found within 30 secs.
