UK based servers generally more enjoyable?

Recommended Posts

I only seem to have UK and some EU servers show up, no US servers. I'd rather play with europeans to be honest

Us Brits are waiting patiently for the Development team to implement the Kettle and Tea bags. Once those lovely chaps at BIS do so we plan to stop fighting all together, sit down and have a nice cup of tea !

We would send some tea over to the colonies but last time we did that it did not end very well and the colonials joined forces with the french.

Please don't lump Canadians in with Americans. Or any other of the Crown's colonies. America was just a bad apple.

Im from Finland and I usually play on UK servers. There you can expect people to actualy use their mic and speak english. On DE, FR, NL etc. servers people usually wont even ansrew if you try to interact with them. I understand that some people don't feel comfrortable with their english skills, but staying mute or talking some hobbit-language is a certain way to get yourself killed.

And how about our own Finnish servers? Haha, I don't even try to go on those since the mod, I know how finnish social skills usually are.  :D

Capability to interact with others on same language is the main thing to reduce kos and increase enjoyability of the gaming experience.

I always join UK servers because it seems the rest of the fuckin world aint speaking proper fuckin English, so ye they just shoot you. Most of British lads i've met so far were friendly, i wont even mention sneaky fuckin Russians.

Which is interesting because i met the nicest people on russian servers. It´s the internet after all, everyone can join everywhere and you don´t know where the people on the servers are from. Just try to play with some people you know and have a good time. Anywhere!

Americans are use to Call of Duty, while in the UK, they are not.

Us Americans are KOS people. We are trying to defend ourselves man...

I dont KOS though. Im a friendly little boy

Defend yourselves by attacking everyone ?....sounds about right. Typical yank. That's why you don't get invited to parties, because nobody likes you.

Out of the 50 or so hours I've played on DayZ Standalone, only 1 guy actually said anything to me before trying to kill me. All of the rest just KoS. These are the U.S servers I talk about.

Probably bad luck, or bad community?

I can say with a certainty that there are no British players who are assholes.

'S funny - I was going to say don't play on british servers because the brits are BAD... (and I AM one)  and try the Ex Soviet Union instead... THOSE guys are fun (and frightning) to play with, because they are sometimes utterly totally ruthless, and Good at it, or sometimes friendly and good at that too, but always 100%. The Brits are too predictable :)), and in the mod, the Brits were/are mostly on servers that had no sidechannel, and they were always teams, and loners were left out or shot..

Im NOT being nationalist or racist (this is just like talking about sports or the olympics, ok?).. you are right AmmokK it doesnt matter what country someone comes from, the country is the game... but there are maybe different styles of play, and you meet different people..

On the mod I met a guy (German) who played all through the mod for a year just being a doctor, he was on call and he saved people, that's all he did.. also found a Spanish (I think) heli medical team.. I played a lot on RO 1 (Romania) and met some great people, some Romanian, some Eastern European.. also there were French, Dutch, German, English, Ukranians, on that server, (I teamed up with a Ukranian bandit who wanted to reform - that was COOL) and there were Americans late at night - starting from 2 am-on  Western Euro Time, when the USA got the ping to do it (around late evening in the USA ). Many countries/players can speak English better than you or I can speak their language - I played QA1 (Quait) and had good friends there too. On RO1 I started to learn some Romanian, enough to follow a lot of the sidechannel talk if it wasn't in english. And had some Russian phrases noted down for emergencies.

Hmm.. I discovered that Romanian is a GREAT language.. never thought a game would get me to that.. (another ++ for DayZ)

There is a BIG internet node in Holland (R-ix), so it is easy to do USA-Germany/Holland with a reasonable ping. The ping to different places changes as the time zones move around the world, So if you play early or late when there are less people on line in your part of the planet, you can reach servers further off. There are Dayz SA servers in HongKong and Singapore. Only Australia is always a bit 'far away' to play there (for me), which is a pity.

I DONT think this is server hopping, right? I think this is going out from the place you live to meet different ideas and different folk.

Bring back (keyboard only) Sidechannel
