I was with a friend on the Southern outskirts of Svetloyarsk the other day and we heard gunfire. We took cover in the tree line but couldn't be sure if it was someone shooting zombies in town or someone trying to shoot in our direction but getting the range wrong. Eventually, I loosed off with the SKS dinnerbell over the town roofs and the gunfire from town stopped so I presume it was somebody dealing with zombies and I spooked them.

I was just thinking this. I haven't seen any loose sticks for ages and it seems obvious that your should be able to make them from trees using an axe or hacksaw so I support your suggestion.

I think once the game takes 'weight' into consideration when modeling how fast a player can move, adding things like the PKM shouldn't be too much of an issue. It should be relatively self-balancing if a PKM with any serious amount of ammo slows a player down to a sustained 6kph or so. Wouldn't be my choice to lug it around.

Emptied my M4 into one that was sat up on its hind-legs right in front of me. Damn thing didn't even flinch. Then it made a noise like a zombie and went about it's day.

Reminds me. Found it odd that there are ISO containers in and around a ship which appears to be some sort of bulk carrier rather than a container ship.

I totally disagree. I've tried playing DayZ in the bath and all I get are electrical shocks from the keyboard and monitor.
