The new Magnum sound..

^That's a Dayz dev commenting on it. 

 

 

 

For those who haven't had the displeasure of hearing it. It sound like a cap gun, would this new sound be what they're going for with the Magnum or could this be a placeholder as it sounds...dreadful to be blunt.

Loving the SKS and Mosin sounds - Great job :thumbsup:

 

New Magnum sound is pathetic. Its a god damn hand cannon and i want it to sound like one, not some p.o.s cap gun. >:(

I'm actually thinking they put the M9 sound in the system files instead of the new Magnum sounds. I'm not a gun expert and have literally only video game knowledge of guns outside of WW2, but shouldn't it sound something like this?;

as i think all weaponssounds are very bad... further more some time you dont even hear someone shoting shots should be very LOUD regadless which weapon (withour silencer) and zombies should react very aggressive on those!

They hurt your ears and damage your hearing. I expect people wouldn't like that. I don't know much about video game sound design - I hope they get some quality recordings and make the damn thing LOUD. Even a pellet pistol is louder than the new sound.

I actually liked the one they already had, it sounded beefy to me.

It is ancient tradition in bohemia interactive to have the crappiest weapon sounds. It was true for all arma games.

They should accept donations of sounds. I'm sure there is somebody out there with high quality audio equipment and a Python or a Mosin or something.

new magnum IS WORSE GUN SOUND I EVER HEARING   :huh:

Listening to it again it sounds very similar to the M1911 from arma2/dayzmod, 

 

I honestly hope all the current gun sounds will be redone, at the very least they need to be made louder.

I wonder why they changed it. The previous sound was fine.

 

Well the Mosin at least was very buggy, often someone would fire a shot very close and you wouldn't hear a thing, so they certainly needed fixing,

My guess is the original Mosin and Revolver sounds were just placeholders that lacked the full dynamic range that allows things to sound different depending on where you are in relation to the source.

Well a few days ago i practiced sniping a little bit, was on a hill near the factory (polana) and shot the Zombies in the area. After the first shot with the mosin 3 of those guys were running up the hill to get me.
