System Requirements

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Before I start this topic, I would like avoid unnecessary comments saying I should look better; I did my research.

*I have not purchased the game yet

I do already know that my current system can run DayZ SA, but I am looking for some further advice regarding how well I can run it, and how I can enhance this current performance.

Specs:

Windows Vista SP2 32bit

Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz
2GB ram
GeForce GTS 250

Thanks!

What would you recommend in order to boost the performance?

I could upgrade my ram to 4GB. Would that be any good?

That is impossible on short term, I'm talking 6 months period of time.

So upgrading ram has no effect whatsoever? That's only 20-30 euros anyway.

when I first seeing dayz I don't have pc :(

save for 2months also do some shitty job and ex girlfriend give me also money towards and I buy low end pc for £480

then I save for 2 months more buy good for gaming monitor mouse and keyboard

then I begin again process in 4 months I save for good mid range pc

But I am thinking ahead ;)

I buy good case great motherboard so is now ready for me to improve over time when I can afford

take time and patience but after when you have pc you will be happy you start this mission   :)

Friend, I only make roughly $200 a month, since I am still a student.

That, and my parents won't let me do any high three-digit purchases with me moving to university upcoming year.

There is a thread for this, pinned in the New Player Discussion section

here's how I found out

Thank you.. I did check that first link before I opened my topic, but I missed out on the last bit.

Your second link was what I was referring to with

it wont run it very well.

4+ ghz for great fps

3+ ghz for OK fps

your graphics card is not a gaming card, thus will have issues getting max fps.

at this time a $60 used gtx 460 and a $100 intel i5 processor should server you well.

my work computer is 2.8 ghz 9550 with gtx 460 and it does OK...

but then my home pc with 4.2 ghz blazes the fps past 60

so for a small investment you should be good to go.

also research overclocking your CPU, may help immensly as SA and Arma are CPU reliant.

you could possibly get a $50 all in one water cooler for your cpu and over clock to 3.5 ghz and be happy

For everyone in a similar position: I have purchased the game, and it runs fine. Just put everything on 'low', which in my opinion, doesn't really matter. The only annoying aspect is the blur when looking at distant places while on the move.

Thanks for your replies.
