You're right, I misread and assumed you were comparing SA to the mod.

 

To answer your question though: You're also right, a lot of things like loot are being messed with currently and there is an issue with rubber-banding and lag.

In my opinion, the game hasn't got worst at all, it has got better, but i miss the bugs and the sudden deaths, now it seems a-bit more boring, everyone avoids combat and the loot is a-lot worst-er.

Typically when you have a car you've been working on for a long time then decide to start a whole new one from scratch, yeah it doesn't really look like a car at first :D

Literally have NO idea what you are talking about. There's been a new patch, yes. Did they turn back made improvements? No. My game play has been the same if not better since the patch. Better animations, less lag,  Zombies are LESS buggy than before. They are actually able to run up stairs most of the time now. Certain loot such as the M4A1 and Magnum spawn less that before now yes, but there is even more loot added to the table such as the hacksaw for example, and spray paint. New gun attachments (Mosin Compensator & FNX Silencer), new melee weapons (Combat Knife & Hacksaw) and that's just to name a few things introduced in the latest patch. There are so many other new things and fixes implemented.

 

So seriously, what are you talking about?

Anyone notice the player model movement change? It seems worse than before. It went from a fluid feel while running to a robot made of cardboard boxes. I didnt see that in the changelog.

Then its me. Must be jetlag from switching games. Too much grinding on Epoch.

So, I took a 3 week break from SA and just recently peeked in to checkout the updates in action. What I logged into was a different game then it was a few weeks ago.

The controls changed along with the inventory system, I had to relearn some buttons and didnt see an improvement much. Items are harder to pickup than before like ones in hard to reach spots. Loot itself is scarce as hell now too. There are less zombies and they are still buggy as ever, maybe more so. Im lagging more now too.

Also, did they change the player model movement? In 3rd person he runs like a robot now with stiff arms and legs as if he has to hold his bladder or something. Looks really fake then compared to before. It really feels like they turned back several improvements.

Am I missing something here or did they change this? Did I accidentally join a pre alpha server or something? (same on 3 servers) Is anyone else seeing this?

(btw if been playing Epoch recently, maybe its just jetlag from switching games)

 

Items are harder to pick up ? Before the 0.32 release ist took up to five seconds to pick up an item oder to lay it on the ground.. Now it is nearly done instantly ( sometimes not caus of the desync issue, but this happend a lot more often in december )  The Animation in 3rd person is still the same than in december.

I dont really know how you can come to such conclusions. The SA ist way better than in december.

 

Can you post a video of your issues, so that we can have a look at it. Sounds really strange to me..

Possibly. Im getting the impression that its just me lol.

Though I plan to play more to get a better feel for the difference. I want to find the sks xD

The game has improved a lot since december lots of bugs were fixed, ok some new were added too (spraycans) , new items added to the game a whole new town added to chernarus too, no complaints so far ^^.

 

About player movement: i only play on hardcore server so i don't know ^^, oh and hardcore servers (3pp:off) were introduced as new subhive ;)

The mod is shit compared to the SA. 

 

Inventory is bad

to much unthought Ioot

Iess buiIdings

cIose spawning non permanent zombies

cIientside scripting

bad heaIth system (bIood = Iife)

no item degredation

not much pIayer interactions 

 

 

sure the mod got more content but the content which is in is much more thought out. over time the sa wiII have more content and the new content wiII be better than the mod counterparts.

Wow. That direct comparison when watching both vids at the same time, to see only how much the playermodel animations have changed is awesome - never noticed, that it's such a huge change until now.....have my beans, good Sir ;)

I can't believe no one is talking about how since the patch, the game actually pauses to give you a "missing file or item" error message and you must click continue to rejoin the game.   This is awful and clearly demonstrates the newly patched game is 100 times worse than the previous version.   I get this error every 20 minutes or so.      Does anyone know if it's only certain items in your inventory that trigger it or is it just unavoidable?  One person said it was military helmet problem, but is this for the server and game file or if it's in your inventory?

Its nothing in your inventory, it's serverside, and we all are experiencing that bug (alpha). And the game doesn't pause ;)

And its not helemets it was the berets and some damaged-metal whatevers. But according to the latest patchnotes (experimental now) it should be gone...

The mod is better in terms of stuff like Epoch, SA is just boring right now, my friends just all went back to Dayz Mod before quitting for Rust.

I've been playing for 3-4 weeks now..  And every week the game has gotten better.  I will note that the Day of major patches it does appear to be a little buggy at first but They gotta be hot-fixing that stuff because the next day those issues are always gone.

 

It feels pretty cool learning a game from the ground up.. each week something is added.

Joining the MOD very late in the game it was OVERWHELMING for a new player.  SO MUCH STUFF to learn.
TBH the lack of items that are slowly introduced each week is just great for newbs to the DAYZ world.

lol i just watched a video on the epoch mod and the running looks absolutely ridiculous so now I really have no idea what the OP is talking about
