Hetstaine 10852 Posted January 30, 2014 So basically, if your on a server before me its your right to the loot? And do you know WHY most military loot is gone within the first hour of restart? Because dumbfucks keep server hopping and cleaning it all out.
Rissou 42 Posted January 30, 2014 Well that's probably why you don't see the problem.Try a fresh character on a 40-man server not restarted for multiple hours. Result may vary. Don't get me wrong, I don't like server hopper :)Only a noob(or fool who thinks he is playing the finished product) goes and tries to gear up on a full 40player server. GO to an empty server and server hopp. All of you server hopp whiners are noobs who dont understand how to play the game. The game is made for server hopping in the current state of alpha. If anyone think im gonna spend 40 minutes running from one side of the map to another because a glitch, bug or hacker killed me... well think again. As a server hopper, other server hoppers have never bothered me. No loot? switch server. Maybe when they add loot respawn, ill start sticking to 1 server and try make a good community, but right now its alpha, game is not working as intended. excitable1 156 Posted January 30, 2014 Anyone know how this is working? When you log, is there a count down timer or somethhing scrolling while you can still move/interact with your character? I have no problem with that at all, BUT if on the other hand, logging blanks your screen and your character just sits there for 30 seconds, completely vulnerable, i think that would be a significant problem. no.. you log out and are gone but your character is still in the server for 30 seconds and you can be killed. the reason for this is to stop these kids from alt f4 when you see, shoot or speak to them. it forces you to find a safe spot to log out. yes i know that sometimes its not possible (real life situations), but something needs to happen to combat the loggers. only time i have combat logged is when i KNOW i am in a spot that is impossible to see/shoot me..like inside a building with no windows or open doors (the removal of certain game files to be able to see me). I prefer to stay and fight...you win have at my stuff, you earned it.
pa_foster 10 Posted January 30, 2014 You don't need cans of drink... there are wells, swamps and rivers everywhere....fill up every time you see one. don't keep food on you. eat it right away every time. your energy bar has a lot more room to store that energy than your backpack. i get to play a few hours every other day in the evening after the rugrats are in bed, but i still experience server resets at least once a game session.Do you see, in the list I've given, any means whatsoever of opening a can of beans? No - because loot-spawns are nerfed to all hell and back and I can only smush a can with a baseball bat, not open it because I keep finding yet another freaking bobble hat instead of anything vaguely useful. And, while it's true that there are water-sources, I have no means of carrying water with me because freaking bobble hats leak like... well a woolly bobble hat really. While I get to play for about an hour most evenings, server resets are a relative rarity for me.

I'm not a programer, but i don't see why both issues couldn't be solved with an ingame 30 second countdown timer that is canceled with any character movement. That would automatically keep an Alt+F4ers character there, imobile, if they try and combat log (they CHOOSE to leave their character unattended), but at the same time wouldn't leave everyone else completely vulnerable while normally logging off (if there is a threat you can at least try and do something ... which would cancel your logout timmer and keep you in game). I don't like combat loggers, but i don't see the reasoning behind making EVERYONE vulnerable for 30 seconds, with no ability to defend yourself, because people don't like combat loggers.
