So America Must Have Had A Decent Presence In This Game

Recommended Posts

Granted the American flag IS sewed on backwards. XD

But seriously ether some Russians were BIG fans of American gear and weapons or there really were American troops in this place.

Idk i just find it odd to find an american flag on a trooper shirt. The mask i can understand but this makes me believe theres more to it now.

They must have sent American troops there to try and contain the infection.

It makes sense to me. America's like "Oh hey somethings going on in the world, better go try and fix it, because obviously that country can't do it themsellllves!"

The army actually has this "backward" flag on all of their ACU's. I think it's supposed to designate that the flag is flying to your back; i.e. you are always charging forward into the fight. Keep in mind that is just a Marines perspective. I'm sure google has a multitude of answers  for this question though. Army uniforms will always have the stars closest to the soldiers chest though.

Keep in mind, in any sort of slow developing apocalypse, NATO/UN is going to attempt to intervene. Chances are the USA doesn't like zombies much, so Russia was stop number one.

Really though, I think this game is just Russia on a normal day. That place is crazy!

Yeah but it gives better perspective as to why there are American weapons in Russia more now to considering allot of ppl were getting upset about the authenticity of the guns. But yeah i JUST noticed this and i dont think anyone else really has yet.

Still cant wait to see some Communist gear aka sickle and hammer stuff. But its nice to see my countries flag have a strong presence on the continent.

I regret to inform you of this, but you're mistaken. Well, they obviously would have been trying to contain the infection, and may even have had reinforcements, but...

The storyline of Arma 2, which featured Chernarus, focused on a Marine Expeditionary Unit which has deployed to Chernarus in order to combat an insurgency. You see, the Chernarussian Government was almost destroyed, they were nice, they had oil, yada yada yada, 'Murica got deployed. They eventually crushed the insurgency, but as we know, it's like crushing an ant - it still maintains some motion and life.

The 'Muricans were obviously deployed as peacekeeping, and  since there was a zombie outbreak, they obviously thought they could contain it.

Poor buggers...

I don't think the stories overlap. I think its a different universe. Same map and all that but I don't think it has to do with ARMA II at all.

I don't believe that there might be another story, Chernarus is Chernarus and the outbreak of infection must have come after or during the war ;)

I don't understand why, out of every place on the planet, the americans would send forces to South Zagoria in Chernarus...

Unless maybe you would assume that the infection originated from here, but there's no sign of that, and if so, why are we survivors not fleeing to somewhere else?

Maybe a ship carrying the last remaining military forces and civilians brought aboard some one who was infected and ether the ship exploded and we were washed ashore or we just got knocked off the boat during the fight.

Idk though it could be a really retarded story as fare as how we ended up there. Could be something like from the movie Hangover. XD

Hmm i always find the new zealand green beret does that mean the kiwis came across to the help the usa lol ( i was born in NZ live in australia).

Or is it because Rocket is a kiwi and just puts in the stuff he wants he feels would be there.

Having some sort of back story to the setting would be interesting and give better idea of where the game might be headed..

Yep. They'll have a big meeting and impose sanctions on the zombies until they start to behave!

Well... I don't get why the UN would intervene in South Zagoria of all places, it's not like there's an important population centre here or something...

(Also the green beret is CDF itseld, and the black one is from the movement of the red star ´´Chedaki´´, that is, the ethnic russian communist insurgency movement.

Perhaps the American presence comes from "advisors" in the country?

They have two green berets. One says NZ on the description or something, but the CDF and NZ one look the exact same except the patch of the NZ beret is just a little further on the right hand side (or left hand, if you were to actually wear it) of the beret.

If there were a serious outbreak in Chernarus wouldn't NATO get in there and lend a hand?

Hell,i even found a New Zealand Army Beret the other day.

There is a green beret that belongs to the chenarus factions but if you look you will find some from the new zealand army has a red badge with a kiwi on it lol.

Its not a civilian version though its a Tactical shirt meaning its worn by the army.

Unless you were referring to the gasmask in general which im a little confused on with your sentence.
