skoltd 0 Posted January 27, 2014 Hello everyone. Basically, what the title says. Are we allowed to use keyboard macros? Some online games consider this cheating and it triggers their auto-ban measures. Is it the same for DayZ's BattlEye? Thanks in advance.
Guest Posted January 27, 2014 What would you be using a macro for anyway?

skoltd 0 Posted January 27, 2014 It could help individuals with certain disabilities to play the game. :) But that's not the point of the topic here, it's if it is allowed or not! Thanks for your response though
kichilron 8550 Posted January 27, 2014 I wouldn't know why it would be disallowed. I don't think there's anything you can do in DayZ that would allow you to abuse it, but I guess only time can tell.
dallas 5195 Posted January 27, 2014 Ten coins, taped together, placed on W. (There is no off position on the genius switch)
Khad (DayZ) 293 Posted January 27, 2014 BattleEye doesn't even ban for no recoil mouse macros in Battlefield as far as I know.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted January 27, 2014 I don't think it is forbidden to use them unless you want to bind hacks.
kichilron 8550 Posted January 27, 2014 BattleEye doesn't even ban for no recoil mouse macros in Battlefield as far as I know. Might have to do with the fact BattlEye doesn't have anything to do with Battlefield. ;)
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted January 27, 2014 BattleEye doesn't even ban for no recoil mouse macros in Battlefield as far as I know. I may be wrong, but isn't Battlefield guarded by Punkbuster?
hogscraper 328 Posted January 27, 2014 I would say it would depend on what you're trying to accomplish with these macros. If you pushed one button and your program spat out a collection of commands that moved your guy around a given area then collected any loot in your nearby area it could be seen as botting. If it was something else, like pull out gun, reload and bring it up that doesn't seem bad but they could still look down on it. Same could go for continuing to move instead of holding down the movement key.
skoltd 0 Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks for all your responses. Given the randomness of this game, I am happy that what Hogs mentioned about complex commands would be impossible with just keyboard macros. I was thinking of simpler things like the ones you talked about, not for my comfort, but to help someone according to his needs. Again, thanks for all the replies.
