acoastalhero 46 Posted March 14, 2014 Watched the video. That was desync..my friend has appeared like that many times.Although there ARE hackers, but 80% of hacker claims are pure bs.I can not believe people are actually saying that was desync. They all say 'i have never seen a hacker before'. Its no wonder when you are shown a video of blatant hacking and you call it 'desync' it is no wonder your small brains could not piece it together.
Leo Balzac 190 Posted March 14, 2014 Yeah that was definitely a hack. The extreme desync always shows as the player running in a straight line then disappearing. Always.
Martmital 436 Posted March 14, 2014 I see a lot of you guys saying that you have played this game for however long and haven't encountered a single hacker. However, you probably have been killed by them on more than one occasion and have just been unaware of it. The most common hack is ESP (Extra sensory perception) because it is also the hardest to detect. Basically, it lights up players, zombies, and items in nice colorful boxes from hundreds of meters away. They can hunt you and kill you and to you it might seem like a totally legit kill, even though you didn't have a chance from the start. So just keep that in mind all you people saying, "I've never been killed by a hacker." Chances are you have been killed by a hacker. 40 pop servers will always have several of them. Also, have you ever been killed and not known what actually killed you? Can you still say you have never been killed by a hacker? 90% of the time I know exactly why and how I died, but just because I can't explain something does not necessarily mean aliens hackers. As my Canadurp friend above me states, the OP is not desync, we know all about it, having played through it for many many hours. Someone has indeed downloaded some shitty file off the net that allows him to be an even bigger knobhead then he otherwise would be. This is the internet ladies and gentleman. Arseholes gather here on a daily basis.
Magicks 17 Posted March 14, 2014 Ive logged all my hours playing by myself, i think i've run into 1 hacker at the very beginning of the alpha. Other then that ive never seen a hacker. 200+ hours played. Maybe i just get lucky
xxxlulbotxxx 1 Posted March 14, 2014 I love the trolls trying to say this is desync.. hahaha
Gekkonidae 270 Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) To those saying this is not a hacker... lulzwtf.. I've only seen 1 hacker while playing this game so far and that guy was doing the exact same shit this one is, except he had a gun. It's the teleport hack every one of those lame asses uses. ..or it could be very calculated, and precise desync. Tactical desync? hmmmmmm..... cav_guy 62 Posted March 14, 2014 I was in your boots until the other day, this happened on Wednesday, Video of what I assume is the same hack in the thread. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/180042-lag-or-hack/Well, there goes that theory. Good job getting video of that and posting it.

ld-airgrafix 403 Posted March 15, 2014 I just encountered a possible cheater, however he was in a group. I was running, freshly spawned, didn't care much as had nothing to loose. He was faster than me running circles around me but also phasing in and out, is he a cheater or just server lag?
IamDinner 28 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) I have a theory and I'd like to ask this question: When you've seen a cheater* have you been with a group, or solo? I play mostly solo and in about 100 hours I haven't seen a cheater*. Most of the videos of cheaters* that I've seen have involved groups. So, do the cheaters* just go after groups to get bigger kicks? *I'm not going to throw fake statistics around, but I'm willing to bet that most of the people using hacks are not actual hackers. Downloading someone else's script/code and using it to cheat doesn't make you a hacker, it makes you a cheater. To deebz1234's point above, I don't know why we keep feeding their egos by calling them hackers. I'll step off my soapbox for now. I hear what you are saying and have had this conversation before with people in my job life. the words hacker and cracker are being used incorrectly in this case. And almost all cases because of idiots journalists trying to sound intelligent. This article even though kind of old now I think defines it pretty well in straight forward terms of what hackers use to be defined as and what a cracker is and how they should differ. I would not call what happens in this game hacking or cracking. The phrase script kiddie comes to mind. Oh and the words "cheating fuck ass" do as well. http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/it-security/hacker-vs-cracker/ Edited March 15, 2014 by IamDinner
over9000nukez 199 Posted March 15, 2014 well I saw 2 hackers in about a 2 week span. one was in my Skype call once and he admitted to hacking and shot like 200 rounds out of his m4, (unlimited ammo) he also could see where people were though walls, he said he had more hacking power but didn't know how to sue it at the time, ive nevr talked to him after. another was a dude who was alone shooting at fresh spawns, 3 of us charged him, he was using a double barrel, and shot it 3-4 times after the first shot hit me
T-Dawg 6 Posted March 15, 2014 Me and two players was playing on a server with 9 people including us. I was waiting for them to run to my location at the suburb north of Balota airfield. While I was waiting I decided to check out the prison. I went in and cleared all the rooms and started looting upstairs. While i was behind at the wall behing the stairs I heard two shots right behind my and I was insta-dead. No footsteps or nothing. 1½ min later my friend was gun downed running on an open field. He also heard 2-3 from right behind him and he was insta-dead. I respawned at Solichniy and decided to suicide to get a little closer to Cherno. I ran to a bridge and killed myself on the first try. I was very lucky and respawned in Elektro. Started to run west right away and I saw a huge explosion a few hundred meters infront of me. I as ran closer it looked like the explosion was at the petrolstation. I continued to run and got shot 10-15 seoconds later. Again it was two quick shots fired from right behind. Insta-dead.It alls seems very strange and isn´t exactly normal. I have logged aroung 110 hours and never even seen an explosion before. Couple that with us being shot three times in just minutes on a server with only 6 other guys. Either we were really really really unlycky or there was something fishy going on. They never missed us with one shot. All hits. Well the only conclusion I can be really sure about is that these things are not normal in Dayz
TisForTat 0 Posted March 15, 2014 Speed hacking is a program that increases the rate at which a program will run, more often than not used in games. This only affects your own client unless you are the host. In most multiplayer games that means instead of the entire game engine speeding up including other clients, only certain parameters are of the speed hacking client. The most common parameter affected is movement. If a player moves at a certain speed, they will "teleport" due to the server unable to constantly keep track of their enhanced movement. Desync and modem tapping are not speed hacking. Desync is constant and happens to everyone. It is your ability to to connect to the server from your client and vice verse. In layman's terms, it is lag. Your ping determines how much that is. If your ping is 500 MS, you have to wait a 1/2 second for the server to receive your client's new information or vice verse. Perfect ping is 0 MS. Great ping is 50 or less. Good ping is 100 or less. Average ping is 200 or less. Bad ping is beyond that. If the game doesn't display that information, you can always use command prompt to check. Modem tapping is an intentional disconnect of the client and the server. This allows you to do things in your client, then reconnect to apply those things such as moving to a new location (which will cause you to teleport), but depending on the game, what you can do overall varies. This is potentially exploitable, but difficult to prove since it is very similar to just lagging out. The easiest and most common way to speed hack is cheat engine. It takes however long to download and install it, from then on just 10 seconds total to; open it up, select the program you want to alter, enter what multiplier for speed hack, then click the check box to apply it. In regards to the "colorful boxes on survivors and zombies to show where they are", that's an aim bot mod.
dusty_nuttles 130 Posted March 15, 2014 Let off some steam, Bennet. Seems like you finally found the right movie so thats got to be worth something right lol? Unfortunately, I still have to make a deduction for not making sense. You got to use that when I fly off the handle, which will probably be sometime today. Nastradamus87 8 Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) My last two deaths have been from hackers with at least ESP, but before that I hadn't seen any suspicious player activity. I explained in detail in a previous thread, but to summarize, a player who could not have possibly known my character's name without cheating addressed me by my name several times before killing me. Besides testimonies on this forum, there is an abundance of evidence proving that many hacks exist in the SA. Why are there so many skeptics who insist on sticking their head in the sand? Just because you haven't observed it first hand doesn't mean it doesn't exist. These two experiences have completely drained my enthusiasm for the game. Trying to survive from bandits on an even playing field is the only enjoyable aspect of the game in its current state for me. If someone kills me in a fair fight, that's fine. I try to learn from the experience to be a better player going forward. Dying at the hands of a hacker with an unfair advantage, though, makes me feel like playing this game is a waste of my life. I know they have some plans for eliminating certain hacks. I hope they are effective. Edited March 15, 2014 by Nastradamus87
lipemr 160 Posted March 15, 2014 noooo, that's not hacking mate, that just desync, alpha, shut up, whiner, alpha, desync, alpha, alpha, alpher. Fucking fanboys man.
luct 2 Posted March 15, 2014 Today we had a guy kill us with an automatic shotgun, this guy was floating above the ground. Hopefully an update to the AC happens soon!!
Vladimir Ilyich Lenin 2 Posted March 16, 2014 I've encountered at least 3 hackers with 1 potential hacker in my 104 hours of playing. 3 of my friends including I were at the Airfield near Grishino, and went into the jail near the Tower. All of us went in and there just so happened to be a guy there with a cowboy hat and a M4 with that 40 round Green CMAG. The dude just sprayed us all down with unlimited ammo and did not die when my two other friends fired back at him (I died first...) He probably shot at least 120 rounds without reloading. Next hacker was in Elektro. We all server hopped into a 35 man server to see if we could kill some fully loaded people like us. Found one dude there with an M4 and he killed us all with one shot. Literally one shot and we all died. The last guy had an unlimited shotgun and used that to spray my friend and I last night. Potential Hacker is weird though. I was at the Air strip near Olsha, and was sitting in a hangar in the middle of it. There was only 4 people in the server and I was pretty much fully armored and ready to go to a higher populated server when I mysteriously died. Didn't hear anything at all, and just got the You Are Dead message. Pretty weird. To add every time I've died to a hacker WAS in a group of at least 3 people, except the mysterious death at the Air Strip.
fnal 206 Posted March 17, 2014 8 out of 10 servers I've played on tonight have had hackers. Floating and flying around the serverFull auto weaponsThe usual teleporting I've seen maybe 1-2 confirmed hackers since the launch of the game but this past day it has been ridiculous, has anyone else noticed this as well? Does the game allow server admins to check logs at all or has it not been introduced yet?
