Nice, hav beans for the effort, but i always wondered, are there any other uses for books? Can you use them to craft something?

I always end up ignoring them completely because they take up way too many backpack slots. :(

That's a lot of books... i feel like the time they spent adding those... could have gone to something much more useful -_-;

Must be good for lighting fires. Bible paper, being thin, is excellent for making roll-ups with too.

Next thing is ho many pages each of those books have?

Bible (the black new testament) has 764 pages.

Does some book have over 1300 pages? Because I remember giving up scrolling through and it maybe was The new testament (the pink one).

Put the book in your hotbar -> tab the number that you put it -> book is now open but you probably don't see next and previous page buttons -> hit page up or down buttons and now you can click those

 -> have fun.

If those previous and next page buttons disappear hit page up or down button again. Some other buttons might do that also but I use those.

Everytime I find "The Art of War" or "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection", something terrible happens and I die shortly afterwards. Oh, sweet irony.

I disagree, I think the books are a nice touch to the game. It probably didn't require that much time to add them, mostly they had to copy and paste the texts its not like they wrote the books

To read the books, put them into your hands/use them on the quickbar.

While I wouldn't object to being able to burn them, I don't feel they need a "purpose" like some people seem to.  Not every item needs to be "useful" and adding novelty items to the game enhances it.
